    Well that was embarrassing.
Maybe I should not bring up the Santa Claus question and where he really lives.
It is common knowledge that the North pole story is a hoax...

    Tru dat!!

I grew up in Iowa and Colorado. Moved to FL from Ohio in '94. They told me my blood would thin out. They lied. Then my job sends me off on trips to Africa where it's 120F!!! And worse than the -30F I've experienced a few times in the north was the 19F once in Houston. It was the humidity for sure. Colder than a brass toilet seat on the shady side of an iceberg. Miserable!!

This all reminds me of going to school in British Columbia. I heard that the way to forecast in Seattle was that, if you couldn't see Mt. Rainier, it was raining. If you could see it, it was about to rain.

I agree. Heat is far worse than cold.
But when you get older aches and pains just get worse during wintertime.
Pretty much all my retired relatives spend months in Spain or Portugal during wintertime.
They say that they can save the price of the plane ticket on pain killers alone.

I'm almost 50 and I think I'm starting to notice it too, winter mornings you have to strech out a little more than in the summer.
And the pops and cracks sound worse in wintertime :).
Houses are warm and well insulated it's not that, it's the little bit of freezing cold you get to your hands, ankles, neck etc... when you're outside.
Florida is better. My Grandparents used to have a place in Lake Worth and spent 5 months every winter there. Visited them many times. In summer it was way too hot to my taste, went once and it was too much for a nordic person like me. I can take my dogs for a 45 minute walk at -25C no problem, but I could not do that in Florida without an ambulance.

Yup. You can always add clothes, but you can only remove so many. I call Florida the armpit of North America. :D

    Now, where were we? LOL!

Well we started out with a dead battery, that wasn't dead.
Agreed to disagree that maybe you can jump start another car with a Prius or maybe it causes some sort of nuclear disaster.
Discussed weather and climate as civilized people tend to do.

It is december so we topically discussed Santa Claus a bit.

The only thing everyone agrees on is those jump starters that they are excellent (this is pretty rare and we should get someone to disagree).

So to round things up, if we could additionally agree that 50% of people commenting are nazis, 50% are trolls, socialists or communists and nobody has changed their opinion on anything, I'd say we could wrap this up as a typical internet chatroom chain.

Would it help if I have played a Nazi in Sound of Music?
This may be cheating as I am claiming it about my self, not others. (I was not menacing enough with a white beard, I looked like Captain Crunch, so I dyed my beard black)

For The Producers, I commissioned Nazi Banners

Since in real life, no one is an expert at sewing swastikas anymore, I should mention that you make a black square , points up, and sew in the white bits, much easier than sewing the black shape.

Something bad about jump starters, they assist your battery if it is mostly dead. If it is all dead all you can do is go through it's clothes for look for loose change.

In real life, I am a Social Democrat

Here in the Nordics (Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland) we say that everyone is a social democrat.
    Even our nazis are.

I have to say, I think that is the most brilliant nazi comment I've ever seen, with sewing instructions and all.
So you are a social democrat, who played a national socialist, on a production of Sound of Music.
Thank You! So many layers woven into it....

Well at least you've put my mind at ease that this site is not some sort of cabal/cult/world domination plan of Lithium-ion jump starter manufacturing industrialists/elites/capitalists.
    So Thank You.

My seamstress mailed these with no return address, she wanted nothing to do with the entire Idea. I had wanted 12' by 5' banners we 'flew' in from above, my Director wanted 8' by 4' banners we marched in from off stage. In the end, we flew in 9' by 4' banners. My seamstress had to build them at work, she did not have that much flat space at home. Imagine trying to explain this to coworkers.

This brings up challenges a theater has. Lets imagine that we ban Nazi flags. Theaters will still need them for some productions. Sound of Music is just the story of a family picnic if you leave out the Nazis. The Producers NEEDS Springtime for Hitler. Getting such props is tough as the 'good' ones are owned by people still holding those beliefs. And no one now is an expert on sewing Swastikas.

Could not agree with you more. Nowadays people want to ban everything.
Every society should have some 0,001% of it's population belong to some kind of Illinois nazis.
It's a sign of a healthy, open and free society. ;)

If you ban nazis, they win.

Several years ago, I was in Sudentendland in the Czech Republic. We were helping Czechs learn English at a week long family camp where they get to practice conversational English with Americans. It's a hoot!! Czechs have an amazing sense of humor. On the last night, we have some entertainment where the Czech students put on skits to roast and caricature their teachers. We laugh all night. As we Americans were practicing for our skit which was a whirlwind comedy tour of American history from the Revolution to the present, we were in the middle of WWII. One of our guys was doing a hilarious spoof of Hitler when the owner of the camp facility rushed in and stopped us. We and the Czechs who were watching the rehearsal explained that we were making fun of Hitler. He said that if people outside heard that, they would burn the place down. We didn't know it could be heard outside, and if they heard it out of context, I could see why they would be mad.

Usually a reference to historical evil is meant as a precaution against a repeat. Rarely is it meant as a call for a repeat. Yet too many people assume the latter and don't value the former.

Just jumped a neighbors car but my Prius was running. The car I jumped was not dead but just weak.

My lithium portable jump box did not work. POS. One had a battery swell up and the other showed a full charge but did nothing. Last time for me buying a lithium start pack.

BTW/same units I told all of you to buy.:LOL::ROFLMAO:

So get in your time machine and disregard those comments.

Most of these die at the 3-4 year point.

Might invest in a charger with jump capacity!

Just to balance this. I've jump starter a few cars with to of those jump starter things. The first one I bought was a cheep one and didn't work. In fact the clip caught fire. The second one was a decent quality one about three times the cost. It appeared not to work until I realised I had to press a button to activate it. That one has started at least two cars and a van.

There are certainly some bad ones out there, but also some do work well. Just make sure you buy one that's from a reputable dealer.

My daughter was dropping hints the last time I had to jump start her Pilot, so I got her a Clore JNC660 for Christmas. It's old-school, weighs 18~20 pounds, but is only about 4" depth dimension, so can maybe slip under a front seat. In my third gen I have one in the under-hatch-floor tray.

I was looking into lightweight lithium-ion style for her also, but had some concerns. She'd asked to borrow mine (same JNC660 model) before, so I knew she was ok with the bulk of the thing.
