Titles shouting a percentage mean 'hold on to your wallet'

    Whenever I see a title shouting a percentage, I instantly know they are most likely lying:

    Tesla sales in China drop 70 percent thanks to trade war - Autoblog

    Tesla's vehicle sales in China sank 70 percent last month from a year ago, the country's passenger car association told Reuters on Tuesday, underscoring how the Sino-U.S. trade war is hurting the U.S. electric carmaker.

    An official from China Passenger Car Association said data from the industry body showed Tesla sold just 211 cars in the world's largest auto market in October.

    So looking at raw numbers:
    • 211 (30%) - Oct 2018, in China
    • 703 (100%) - Oct 2017, in China
    • 80,142 (100%) - Production in Q3 of 2018
    • 26,714 (33%) - Production for one month, Q3 of 2018
    • 2.6% - maximum, China share of Tesla production in one Q3 of 2018 month
    • 0.8% - reported 211 cars, China share of Tesla production of Q3 of 2018
    Gosh, Tesla is down 492 China sales out of 26,714 in October. <YAWN>

    China is Tesla's future, 40% tariff, oops.

    US October model 3 sales 17,750
    • Tesla Model S – 1,350 units in October
    • Tesla Model X – 1,225 units in October
    Price reduction for Model S
    Price reduction for model X

    7,500$ tax rebate ending.

    Sedans are being replaced by pick-ups, ask Ford, GMC and Fiat-chrysler.

    Yawn.

    35,000$ model 3, waiting, yawn.

    The industry wide average price of new cars is 35,000$, yawn.

    70% drop of sales after 40% tariff and price discounts, eyes popping open.

    Certainly the China factory was in planning for longer than just one quarter.

    Once the China factory is up, the EU is up next. Perhaps in Greece or Italy.

    Trump tweeted that China blinked. Turns out China didn't really blink, but talks are stated to take place at some point in the future???

    Poo is just waiting until P46 takes the oath.
    The rest is just slow rolling us until they get a more..........cooperative local gov'mint.

    As far as building the next factory in the Middle Kingdom, I don't yet see anything that will slow that down.
    Once the tax kickbacks sunset, they'll need to cut costs and so I see China playing a long game......Elon too for that matter.

    Our boy has been pretty quiet lately.
    Too many unflattering stare and compares with other big tweeters?
