Wow. As I am sure most of you all know we had quite a rattler last Friday - 7.0. Our house moved like a whole inch on its foundation. Fortunately was at work and the Prius was not damaged. If it was in the garage, it would have been. No fatalities or serious injuries, praise the Lord!
The real odd thing about this quake is the on going aftershocks... like nearly 2,000 since Friday. They have everyone's nerves fried!

Hey Spidey, I was wondering about you. Glad to hear everything worked out for you with no injuries. I hope your water and sewer pipe connection points underneath are still good with no leaks.

Glad to hear you are OK. A friend in Anchorage sent me pics of crumbled roads and fallen vehicles in the chasm. Thank god no fatality. I had to wonder what would have been if this was at densely populated west coast cities. Take care.

    Thanks for the update Spidey!!

My former supervisor just moved up to Anchorage and we have a dear family friend up that ways (Air Force Nurse.)

    Hang in there Friend!
Thank GOD there are no known fatalities, and relatively few injuries.

The people up there are as sturdy as the buildings, but.......yeah, those aftershocks are a pain I'm sure.

The hot water tank did move around because one of the straps broke and it crushed the platform it was sitting on though no major leaks. Th e aquarium flew off the cabinet however and we had to toss the carpet/foam. Do [not] smell anything bad below and the turds disappear so I assume all is well there. :)

As densely populated as it gets in Alaska. The house in the article below is just two houses to the East of me.

It's always good to fill out the paperwork and get a case number, just in...ah...case.
Better to have it and not need it.

same here, but that is always a judgement call, and like any federal responsibility, cn be viewed in different lights
to me, helping people in need always trumps ignoring them, even if mistakes are made

I am picturing the motion sensing burglar alarm of every car in the state of Alaska going off 2,000 times since Friday...

As long as the house doesn't start to lift . . . should be good until the Spring thaw tells the real story.;)

I think we determined where it's gone. :D

    Hang in there.

That should be quieting now as their 12V batteries get drained ...
