    Hello all,

So, our wonderful old Subaru has finally hit the point where it's not worth dumping $5k+ into repairs on a 20 year old model, so I'm looking at getting something to haul family and I around town.

I was originally looking at a 2015 Prius but having had a chance to A/B a 2015 vs a 2017 there are some features I really prefer in the 2017, mostly the safety package. (From what I can tell, most 2016s don't have it)

Right now two available to me are a ~$17k One (61k) and a $19k Two (44k). I know the One gives up the spare tire and rear wiper, but it seems most else is the same.

Any owners of 2017s with specific advice for things to look for? The Two didn't seem to have any tremendous issues but it was dark/raining and I couldn't crawl around to check stuff- I'll have to drive to see the One tomorrow.

/And thanks to the folks in this forum to note about the issues with jumping other cars with a Prius- I hadn't thought about it but it's obviously a bad idea without a lot of care.

Yes- they're not really there. I checked out the cheaper of the two today- it's actually a 2 spec, not a 1, and they knocked another $500 off the price. The best I can do with a car buying service (USAA) around here is a bit over $23k for a 2018 2, and the stock of those is limited. (i.e., there's only one anywhere close)

Thanks for the note on the 12V battery- I saw some other comments that things get kind of screwy when it goes bad. Can't be anywhere near as bad as my Hyundai though- that thing has electrics straight from Lucas. The Ioniq gets nice reviews but I'll never trust them with anything electrical.
