I like the sound of that. For some reason my 2017 gets obscured by rain far easier than my 2015 3 did. The 2017 seems to be clearer overall, but it seems to be much worse in dark or rainy conditions.

Cars.com is purporting to show the full specs for the 2019 Prius, even before this is available at Toyota.com:

    http://www.cars.com/research/toyota-prius-2019/trims/

For example, according to cars.com, navigation is only available on the top trim level (Limited). On the other hand, all but the lowest (L) trim level include "blind spot sensor", "automated parking sensors", and "rear collision / Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA)".

The names of features, let alone the category names, do not seem to always correspond exactly to the terminology used by Toyota. And I can't find the feature that Toyota has called "Qi-compatible wireless smartphone charging", despite the fact that this feature has been mentioned in several reviews of the 2019 Prius. So I don't know how much to trust the accuracy of the information on cars.com . But it does look like a reasonably comprehensive description of all 6 versions (4 trim levels for front-wheel drive and 2 trim levels for all-wheel drive) of the 2019 model year.

There appears to be an error as to which versions use the nickel metal hydride battery vs. lithium ion. According to cars.com, the L and LE trim levels use nickel metal hydride, whereas the XLE and Limited trim levels have lithium ion. This contradicts numerous other reports that say the all-wheel drive versions use nickel metal hydride, whereas the front-wheel drive versions use lithum ion.

The Qi charger is standard on the trim 3 & up in the US. It is under the small platform under the shifter.

Yes, and obviously it will be available in 2019. So, if cars.com isn't listing it, then it calls into question whether they are an accurate, reliable source of information.

i have never found a website that accurately lists every model and package, even after they are in the marketplace.

Service publications for model year 2019 Prius and Prius Prime cars are now available by subscription to techinfo.toyota.com. The Repair Manual, New Car Features, Electrical Wiring Diagram, and Collision Repair Manual first issued for 2016 (Prius) or 2017 (Prius Prime) have been revised to cover model years through 2019.

Some highlights of the 2019 Prius, mostly from New Car Features:
    • All-Wheel Drive (AWD) models ZVW55L-AHXEBA and ZVW55L-AHXGBA have been added. These have an Ni-MH HV battery and Q510 rear traction motor, with the same specifications—air-cooled induction motor, 5.3 kW maximum output, 55 N·m maximum torque, 201 V system voltage—as on E-Four models previously offered in Japan.
    • The 2WD model with Ni-MH HV battery (ZVW50L-AHXEBA) is no longer offered.
    • The exterior design has been changed. (“Inheriting the emotional image which the current model had established, the new model has evolved towards a bold yet clean direction.”)
    • The brake control system includes Active Cornering Assist (ACA), which “makes use of the VSC [Vehicle Stability Control] system to apply braking force in situations where there is a tendency to experience understeer, which helps achieve enhanced cornering performance.”
    • The rear brake pad material has been changed from NS254 to D6360.
    • For models with 17-inch wheels, the shock absorbers have multi-leaf type linear control valves, rather than high response type piston valves.
    • The engine intake valve timing ranges have been expanded: the earliest opening has been changed from 23° BTDC to 40° BTDC, and the earliest closing has been changed from 57° ABDC to 40° ABDC.
    • The spark plug type has been changed from FC16HR-C9 to FC16HR-CY9.
    • There is a new design for the fuel pump module and related components.
    • Some models have an intelligent adaptive front-lighting system (AFS), which can swivel the headlights.
    • All models with a navigation system have a DCM (data communication module), the telematics transceiver used for the Safety Connect feature.
    • The No. 2 (rear) power outlet socket has been changed to a USB charger socket.
    • Some models have a heated steering wheel system.
For readers interested in radio and navigation features, Quick Training Guide QT616A, “Entune Head Units 2018 MY Vehicles,” says the 2019 Prius and Prius Prime, like the 2018 models, will have 13.5 CY or 16 CY head units. The 17 CY (Entune 3.0) head units, which now include the Apple CarPlay feature, are listed as available only on Avalon, C-HR, Camry, Corolla, Mirai, RAV4, and Sienna vehicles.

Same thing here, going to the above link. But, if you go to Toyota Tech Info site (just google "toyota tech info"), the 2019 Prius Owner's Manual is available. No Warranty and Maintenance Booklet though.

Just browsing, something new I think: a replaceable/cleanable hybrid battery air intake filter (page 641).

The filter hasn’t changed, as far as I know, but the procedure to remove it for cleaning was added to the Owner’s Manual for 2018. It’s always been in the Repair Manual, of course.

There is something funny going on with toyota.com for getting the 2019 manuals. The only way that works, it seems, is NOT to use the direct link. But if you start from a fresh browser, and do a Google search for "Toyota manuals", then it will let you select 2019.

So far, the only fun fact I have learned from the 2019 Prius owner's manual (from the very last page) is that the gas tank is 0.8 gallons (3 liters) smaller in the all-wheel drive version.

Yeah, the filter caught my eye in the 2019 manual, so I searched a 2016 manual for similar phrases, and not finding them, jumped to conclusions.

The manual is available, at Toyota Tech Info:

    https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfoPortal/appmanager/t3/ti?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=ti_home_page&contextType=external&username=string&password=secure_string&challenge_url=https://techinfo.toyota.com/techInfoPortal/login/techinfo&request_id=5755438079432653878&authn_try_count=0&locale=en_US&resource_url=https%3A%2F%2Ftechinfo.toyota.com%2F

(An awkward URL, but search for "toyota tech info" finds it.)
