I have a 2010 Prius. I was driving this morning and my check engine light came on along with the triangle with an exclamation in the middle. It said check hybrid systems. The car still turns on. It started slowing down and wouldn’t accelerate. Once I stopped it completely it would no longer go. After sitting for about 10-15 minutes I turned it back on and it started going like nothing ever happened. Any idea what could be causing this?!

    welcome!
    how many miles on her?

could be anything, you'll need to get the trouble codes pulled for direction.

sometimes a blown inverter pump will stop the car due to overheating safety shutdown, then let you start up again after the temp drops below threshold.

any movement in the inverter fluid reservoir with the car in ready?

Sounds like the inverter water pump;).

I’d look to source a new one. To do the job, I believe you have to loosen the inverter for access:cool:.

I am preventatively replacing our 2010’s water pump once it arrives from Amazon. Due in later this week:).

Good luck and keep us posted (y).
