I never spoke about E0/E10 MPG differences till I had full years of gasoline usage.... for each set of E0 AND E10 data. & now that includes five 87 octane designed gasoline vehicles.

Even Where Big Ethanol is King Many Prefer Ethanol-Free Gas | Boating Magazine
    From the article:
DES MOINES, Iowa, May 3, 2018– Even in Iowa, it appears many Hawkeye State residents aren’t fond of ethanol fuels mandated by the federal government’s Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS).

A report from the Iowa Department of Revenue shows that ethanol-free gas (E0) is a more popular fuel choice than E15 (15 percent ethanol) and all flex fuels (E20, E85) combined, with Iowans purchasing more than 200 million gallons of E0 fuel in 2016. Since E0 purchases are driven by grass-root & word-of-mouth "advertising", instead of lobbying by the "ethanol in gasoline industry", that says bunches.
    ///////////
pure-gas.org reports that Iowa (king of ethanol), now lists 322 E0 sources in the state.... with a good distribution of octanes. Iowa E0 sources used to be much less than in my Washington state. Now, their E0 sources have passed my state in number, despite my state's INCREASING E0 sources.

Survey: Boaters Have Little Love For Ethanol, 83 Percent Would Choose E0 If Available | Boat Repair and DIY Projects | lakeexpo.com
    From the article:
The BoatUS Summer Fueling Survey identified
the boaters’ fuel of choice: About half (49 percent) of respondents said they filled up their boats with E0 (ethanol-free) fuel this summer. However, if they had their choice of fuel, more than four in five (83 percent) would choose E0 (ethanol-free) fuel – if it was available.

People that know which fuel is necessary out on the great waters of America, choose E0.

Update, comparing ethanol-free gasoline(E0) burned in Iowa to all gasoline (mostly E10):
E0 burned in Iowa in 2016 was 11% of total gasoline consumption. In a state producing one quarter of the US ethanol, not bad for word-of-mouth, more expensive fuel.

I love how people on this site complain about Ethanol. Then later complain about how much oil we're pumping.

Nah! MORE oil is used to produce 114 octane ethanol, blend it into gasoline, deliver it to gas stations, & support the worthless "ethanol in gasoline industry", which gets Congress to penalize ethanol-free (E0) production. Then, 114 octane ethanol is used (not burned efficiently) in low compression ratio (9:1 to 11:1) 87 octane designed gasoline engines. Also, the gasoline component must be 84 octane, which isn't used effectively in 87 octane gasoline engines, either. It is obvious that such a concoction adding only 10% ethanol, collapses MPG by 8% to 5%. More oil is used to support the worthless "ethanol in gasoline industry" and their lobbying efforts in gov't. dubit is part of that worthless "ethanol in gasoline industry". He needs to get some E0 for his gasoline vehicle from the 155 listed E0 sources in Indiana.
This summer I had an 87 octane, EPA rated 32MPG non-hybrid, non-diesel, non-turbo car with 8 tanks in a row over 40MPG, 4 tanks over 44MPG, one tank over 47MPG & one tank over 48MPG..... all using 100% ethanol-free gasoline.

Enjoyed the troll lol . It's one of my favorite things to do on twitter. :)

But just so you know I don't really care if what I burn in my car. 0%, 10 % or 15% (which is what I usually buy because it's cheaper). I only took a couple mpg's "hit" on the move to 15% ethanol. Burned 0% as a trial once, only gained a couple mpgs. So meh, I'll stay with the cheaper gas. Besides - the nearest 0% gas is about 50 miles away from me at the lake. It's not worth the drive.

So you got ~ 6% better MPG with E0. If you continued with multiple vehicles, you'd probably note 8%-5% worse MPG, by only diluting true gasoline by only 10%, with poor functioning ethanol. As noted above, the "ethanol in gasoline industry" lobbies Congress to subsidize ethanol & penalize companies for producing E0.

This ticks me off. I get the Melitta going every morning, make some porridge, or a fry up, whatever. Then we hook up the Shiba, get our coats and gloves, and off we go.

Just down the trail there's a freshly-minted drive-thru Starbucks, with all these dopes sitting in line in their CUV's (usually one per), moving forward 10 feet at a time, looking down at their phones the rest of the time.

The world has moved on. :(

The world needs more start stop and hybrids or EVs and less convience food and packaging

My Cobalt stays off most of the time when I’m stuck in an infernal queue.

The lowly Cobalt has topped 85mpg in stop and go springy highway traffic

Nah, that ain't true. The CUV (& pick-up) drivers anticipate seeing the cleavage (maybe a bikini or thong) of the server.... while contributing to the american-waste-gas culture.

I cannot get ethanol free gas where I live. I was on one of my trips once and bought a tank of ethanol free gas in Oklahoma. Even trying to get better mileage it did not happen. I did not know the gas station and my cynical side told me it was the same gas as the next handle over, just 5 cents a gallon more. There should have been an improvement in mileage. Since then I have opted for the guaranteed money savings of the cheapest gas. I do try to limit my gas purchases to know chains of stations and avoid the Quick-E marts.

I believe the manufactures design their engine with the blend in mind. I don't recall anyone getting any better
fuel miles using pure gas. Or it would be extremely minimal, and not really worth the extra money.

Nah. Nah. Nah.(& I ain't singin'). I've told often that the "ethanol in gasoline industry" pays govt to subsidize ethanol & penalize the production of ethanol-free gasoline(E0). I (with many years for five 87 octane cars of both E10 & E0 use) & MANY people have posted they get 8% to 5% better MPG burning ethanol-free gasoline(E0) than E10(which has only 10% ethanol component). A few mention more E0 MPG than E10. 87 octane gasoline engines are designed to burn most efficiently using 87 octane gasoline, which 87 ethanol-free gasoline is(duh!). The 87 octane designated E10 COMPONENTS are NOT 87 octane. The ethanol is 114 octane. The gasoline component is 84 octane. Anyone saying there is little difference between E10 & E0 MPG is wrong & walks with the "ethanol in gasoline industry".
This summer I had an 87 octane, 2008 EPA rated 32MPG non-hybrid, non-diesel, non-turbo car with 8 tanks in a row over 40MPG, 4 tanks over 44MPG, one tank over 47MPG & one tank over 48MPG..... all using 100% ethanol-free gasoline. EACH & ALL tanks had 5 to 7 cool downs over lesser numbered days, which lowers MPG.

    Yup
He's from Washington Dogman…. Probably says enough right there. I'm not sure what kind of Prius he drives, but my Prius says it is designed to handle up to 15% ethanol. In order to burn that high of an ethanol content, it has to be specifically designed to do so.

Personally I'm going to buy whatever is cheapest. Just like 99.9993% of all drivers on the road. But everyone has a torch, I guess "Death to Ethanol " is his. lol

I drive the same generation as he does, it says no fuel beyond e10 printed on the fuel cap and manual. I should also say, Generation 3 sub-forum.

I've been using Sunoco for over a decade without problem with any of my vehicles. I use to use Texaco,
but they are more or less extinct around here.
I hate that my tax money pays farmers to grow corn to make fuel for gasoline!
It's a waste of money. Gasoline it the most efficent fuel there is. Keeping it pure would use less of it in the long run.

But there will ALWAYS be those who just want to fight and argue.
I am not one of those. And I will not get in a battle of wits with and unarmed opponent! :)
