    Hey folks
Im new around here but I just got my second Prius. My first was an 07, then I got a lexus HS that i still have and just today bought a 2010 Prius 5 with Advanced tech package for $5700.

When I got home from the transaction i was playing with the computer and noticed the trip computers we both reset. That made me a bit curious so i dug out my obd2 scanner and saw that i have codes P0A80 and C1241. I did some digging around the interwebs and didnt find anything that would make those 2 related. Can they be?

Is it a charging issue with the alternator or 12v battery or am I just in denial about buying a prius that needs a new hybrid battery?

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to Prius Chat (y).

    Some questions:
    • How many miles on your Prius?
    • What did you use to read te codes?
    • Did you pull any sub codes from the P0A80?
    • How did the car run once the dash lights appeared?
Good luck and keep us posted (y).

    $5700 for a 2010 V with tech package, wow that's cheap.

So I would just put in a new battery for $2000 and call it a day. Out the door for $7700. You will then have trouble free driving for 8+ years (fingers crossed).

Depends on the mileage or condition;).

$5700 sounds too good to be true territory .

So the interesting thing is that nothing is showing on the dash. It runs and drives fine. I have a Lemur BlueDriver scanner. I cleared the codes and re scanned and it only threw the P0A80 code. .

Drove around all afternoon and nothing came up. Battery seemed to charge fine and didnt drain when I floored it.

    Update:
Went to the dealer to get an oil change and asked. The advisor said that if there are no warnings on the dash its all good. Can I trust that?
