Does anyone else hear a very low mechanical clicking noise from under the cup holders? I think it's the wireless charging pad mechanism turning on/off, but it only started making the noise (or at least I just noticed it) like 2 years after I bought it.

not only do I get a "clicking sound" but I also get a "phone dialing noise" as well... very quite, but it's definitely there.

Prius's tend to have more strange-nice person noises than other cars by far.

I get a strange click, but it's directly under my driver floor board, and occurs mostly when the brake pedal is operated, and occasionally the throttle pedal.

Why not turn off the QI charger and see if the noise goes away?

So I usually keep the qi charger off. My case makes it unreliable (it charges 100% without the case one, but about 20% of the time with it on, even tough it's supposed to be a qi compatible case). However the other day I decided to do some investigating and do indeed here a relay clicking when the qi charger starts charging. It sounds like it's coming from the center console, but my earing isn't really good enough at this point to pinpoint it.

    Update:

So I decided that I have a better description of the noise. It's like when you skip to the next CD in a multi-CD player, if that make sense. It's a mechanical noise.

I had the noise actually recorded. They confirmed that it is indeed the Qi charger mechanism and it's normal operation that they confirmed with several of the Primes on the lot. They said it made the noise at start-up and throughout the use. I also confirmed on a loaner Mirai - although it only made the noise when it started: Not ever again when I was driving.

The Prime was not for sale in the US 2 years ago, IIRC

I may have overstated my "2 years ago" remark... keep thinking that I've owned the Prime longer than my March 2017 purchase due to my high miles. But for sure there were many that bought the 2017 Prime in late 2016 - right? Otherwise there wouldn't be the woes from those that don't get the red HOV sticker extension.

I bought my 2017 Prius in October 2016 and the Prime was not out yet.

EDIT: I think there may have been limited California availability in December 2016. Your location Chino does not indicate a US state though.
