    Hi
I have a 2010 gen3 with navigation and rear camera and aux but no usb.
Obviously i have the option in the headunit but no physical usb just aux.
Anyone know exactly what i need to add usb apart from physical usb thingy. Do you think its pre wired or do i need wiring loom as well

    You didn't mention OEM usb.

If he is talking about the head unit, then he needs more than just a USB power-only socket, which anyone can get with a simple plugin converter in the 12V outlet.

Late 2010 Prii had a USB audio connection built in, but early ones (such as my first Prius) did not.

That's a lot of money for just to charge a device. But it's not my money. :)
It's been working for me and using the aux input.

I think he wants a USB connection to his audio system, not just a charging port. The Prius USB is seriously wimpy as a charger anyway, my devices don't get more than 100mA from it. But I use it heavily for a music collection on a flash thumb drive.

As for cost -- I traded in my 2010 lacking USB to get a 2012 with USB, far more costly than any of the options mentioned here. :D Though I did get numerous other more important upgrades along with it, including the sunroof the spouse wished I would have bought the first time.

Yes i already have a usb thing for charging hidden behind drivers side dash. This was purely for usb music with track listing like oem

You bought a new car JUST to get a factory USB port? :) That was cost effective! :) :) :)
Any music I play is from my iPhone. But 98% I'm listening to podcasts. I use the charger to keep the display on
while driving because it's a pain to try to unlock while driving!
I want to DRIVE the car, not work on it continually.
I had the lighter plug in, and still do, but found a dual usb attachment that I attached to the fuse box and then plugged
into a usb/aux plug I installed in the space below the START button. That way I can use short usb and headphone jack cables.
