    So...
Do you think the inevitable leaked photo's of vehicles wrapped in 1970's shelf paper are a product of industry secrecy and competitiveness?
Or are they more just way to try to "tease" more excitement out of a upcoming release?

I think they are more a marketing tool, than really anything useful as far as keeping styling ques hidden from competitors...who probably really don't care.

lol. Not sure. But yeah a Prius crossover makes sense given the market (Prius x? Prius Cross?)

I was thinking CT200h F Sport for the prototype wheels.

I don't see where it will fit in the current line up. The Prius v has about the same interior space as the old Rav4 hybrid. The new ICE Rav gained space, but it is similar in size to the Prius, so a new Prius v likely will grow in size to match.

The Corolla wagon will be around the same size. It will also have a price advantage by being made 'locally'. Prius sales dropped in Europe after the introduction of the Auris hybrid for mostly that reason.

    That's them.

Just like how Europe got the Yaris Hybrid instead of the Prius c, maybe we’ll get a Prius crossover instead of the CH-R hybrid.

The old Prius v wasn't that small, and it will have the wheelbase of the Prius, which is slightly longer than the new Rav4.

I would say it’s a test mule which has zero effort on outward aesthetics

There is just one thing on those wheels that does not match up, the wheels on the "prototype whatever the F it is" has these triangles at the end of the spokes.

Like ive made here, or else they look pretty much the same.. lol

And if it is for the US market only by some reason, why dont they just import the CH-R hybrid? Dont u have the petrol version? Why make a whole new car just to sell a hybrid crossover like the existing CH-R Hybrid?
I think it makes more sense for it come to Europe really, and i dont know how the prius sales r in USA, but here in Europe it doesnt go that well, auris/corolla has completely taken over its sales. So maybe toyota completely transformes it to a SUV to potentially sell more of the prius again? I cant see them ditch the prius name, since its the worlds most famous hybrid.

The spy photos are of a car speeding along a test track using high speed 'film'. What looks like triangles on the end of the spokes is likely caused by motion blur.

Marketing. The same reasons we don’t get the Corolla Hybrid as a hatchback. According to Toyota USA’s marketing, young people don’t want hybrids or at least their priorities are different so they offer hybrids to those older demographics like young professionals or young couples.

The other reason specific to the CH-R is that it was originally intended as a Scion brand vehicle and a Scion doesn’t do hybrids, thus they didn’t certify the CH-R in hybrid form.

I dont get that at all lol, if i had the cash, the Corolla wagon witht he 2.0 hybrid wouldve been my first purchase lol, Just imagine the pull in that compared to the prius... While also getting the fuel economy of the 2011 prius.

Yeah I'd love to get the 2.0 litre in the Prius. With the Touring setup, it would make for a reasonably fun commuter car. It won't be a GTI but at least it won't be slouch.

The US isn't even getting the plain Corolla wagon.
Our fuel prices are too low to help hybrid sales. Younger buyers, really most demographics, don't see the extra $2000+ to get a hybrid worth it.

But that $800 is on top of the $2100 for AWD in the ICE models.
The FWD, which is all the majority really needs, is thousands less.

Then there is actual prices paid. The AWD ICE model will likely see better incentives than the hybrid because of a higher margin.

When you roll in the AWD, it is a much easier sale.

I think the Corolla wagon would do well in US against the Subaru 5 door models (Impreza, Crosstrek, Forester) and others (Mazda3, ex-Ford/GM models). This small wagon fits well as an alternate SUV category.

agreed. i wonder what the fwd/awd sales ratio is? he's in an awd now, has to be at work no matter what.
he'll do all the math, and hopefully go for the hybrid, even though he isn't green or political.

Yes, people want AWD, and are willing to pay for it at the sale, and every time they up.

Hatchbacks are still around, and there is a Civic hatch. But Toyota probably sees the wagon more as a competitor to the Rav4.
