No link. Just looking at the details on the website.

The photo you attached literally shows you the wheel lineup :).

The two base models have the plain silver wheel covers, the Technology has the machine-finished alloys and the Technology AWD-e has the two-tone wheel covers.

It’s also shown in the Canadian brochure.

    Base FWD:

Technology FWD with the machine finished alloys

The annoying thing (as you’ve noted), is that the Canadian site is as forthcoming on the details so we’re left to decipher the photos.

You mean the graphic shows it? The all look the same to me. In the brochure, the only textual mention I see is in the base model:

Yes. Hopefully the photos I attached are sharp enough for you to pick out the design differences.

Yeah I noticed toyota.ca is starting to pare back the details. Methinks the new person in charge of updating the specs is less detailed oriented.

I'm not sure. Here they are in same order (2wd, 2wd tech, awd, awd tech):

    upload_2019-2-15_6-35-43.png

Maybe: one and three vary from two and four? Would be nice to find some concrete info. I really wonder if they're just two different wheel cover styles?

Again, the Canadian levels seem confounding and diminished, in particular:

    1. Only the base having a spare.
    2. Only the two tech levels having 3-door touch lock/unlock.
    3. The tech levels always having sunroof.
    4. No 17" rim option.

One and three are the same design. Four shares the same design as the Corolla Hybrid. So there are two different wheel cover designs (unlike 2016-2018 where it’s the same design but with blacked out elements on higher grades).

I agree. I liked the old toyota.ca and brochures that had more details. Heck if they want to pare the website back, that’s fine but why not make the brochure more detailed? It’s not like they’re printing them any more.

Yeah, forensic analysis, I'd agree one and three look the same. Two and four look different, and not nearly like each other. Two looks a little more directional?

Would you say then, none of them are bare rims? I mean: Prius 15" alloys with wheel covers are as predictable as BC rain. They slipped up with PIP, never again?

Two is bare rims. Four is the wheel cover.

So Two is the one that I’ve been trying to get you to realise that non covered wheels are back. :) Same as the PiP.

So 2WD Tech level has a decent rim? Good to know.

Looks like 19s are hitting lots near me. I’ve been looking at ones available on south east Toyota’s website.

    I found my next one.

I think it's 2WD, and the rims are all the same, far side would look kinda backwards.

Yes, 2012 had some minor changes: different tail light colors, front bumper a bit different, alloy rims (under covers) went from silver to black, I think the wheel covers changed too? Some interior changes: more connectivity for phones I think? I didn't pay that much attention.

Does Toyota have a model identifier for the Prius gen 4? Normally a manufacturing code.

Toyota’s basic model codes for all fourth-generation Prius cars are:

    ZVW50: Ni-MH battery, 2WD
    ZVW51: Li-ion battery, 2WD
    ZVW55: Ni-MH battery, AWD-e

(ZVW52 refers to the Prius Prime and Prius PHV.)

For cars that have a VIN, the first few positions identify the basic model code:

    JTDKBRFU・・・・・・・・・ZVW50
    JTDKARFU・・・・・・・・・ZVW51
    JTDL9RFU・・・・・・・・・ZVW55

The complete model codes are listed in New Car Features (more info). I’ve correlated these with the marketing names for the grades:

    U.S.A., model years 2016–2018:
    ZVW50L-AHXEBA: One, Two
    ZVW51L-AHXBBA: Two Eco
    ZVW51L-AHXGBA: Three, Four
    ZVW51L-AHXHBA: Three Touring, Four Touring
    U.S.A., model year 2019–:
    ZVW51L-AHXBBA: L Eco
    ZVW51L-AHXEBA: LE
    ZVW51L-AHXHBA: XLE, Limited
    ZVW55L-AHXGBA: LE AWD-e
    ZVW55L-AHXHBA: XLE AWD-e

A second series of four-digit model codes used by Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., is listed in the Dealer Model Reference charts, available by subscription to techinfo.toyota.com:

    Model years 2016–2018:
    1221: One
    1223: Two
    1224: Two Eco
    1225: Three
    1226: Three Touring
    1227: Four
    1228: Four Touring

    Model year 2019–:
    1221: L
    1223: LE
    1225: XLE
    1227: Limited
    1263: LE AWD-e
    1265: XLE AWD-e
The only place I’ve seen “XW50” used to refer to any Prius car is in the Wikipedia article; as far as I know, that’s a code made up by its editors. In the Electronic Parts Catalog, Toyota refers to the entire series as ZVW5#.
