We often joke about Tesla killers or Tesla fighters. However, there’s not much truth to either as proven by the incredible success of the Tesla Model 3 as compared to any potential rivals. Not to mention that the Model S and Model X don’t really even have direct competitors that have proven much of anything in terms of sales. . . .

A few pre-production I-Paces and journalist boondoggle to Portugal led to a lot of glowing reports. So January, 210 I-Pace were sold per InSideEVs, less than 1/4th of one day's production at Tesla.

Even now, the Tesla SHORT-sellers are claiming the market is saturated so Tesla had to send their cars to Europe and Asia. So how much USA market will be left after Tesla and the I-Pace?

Sec wants musk out in the worst way.
    Someone should be investigating them.

The Judge will make the call. Sad to say, I have an order out for TSLA and was kinda hoping to see it drop into my purchase range. Instead, it increased the next day and today.

I've got to say I welcome the polestar 2, competition is good. Tesla killer, well that doesn't sound right, but the car probably won't arrive in volume for a couple of years and it will likely find tens of thousands of buyers in the US and China.

Its probably just a couple of people at the SEC that want musk. Seriously tesla has engaged in some bad behavior with tweets. The accusation of violating the agreement though seems wrong, and likely is immaterial to the stock price, though may require a tesla lawyer look at the tesla twitter feed ;-) which may not be a bad thing.
Musk says he will have some kind of announcement today (thursday), which sent the stock up yesterday. If its good it will go up more, if its nothing I would expect it to fall a little.

U said Portugal? Saturated, of course, too many Model S and X here already.
So Polestar has a very difficult task ahead, kill i-Paces (before they kill themselves) and hope Musk spaceships don't land in Pole Star first.

A follow up to the tesla rumored anoucement, we have it now, its the standard range standard interior model 3.
Tesla finally launches standard Model 3 for $35,000 - Electrek

New prices without tt&L (varies greatly by locality) and delivery ($1000 to texas, other prices to other prices but close) or autopilot ($5000).
$35K Standard interior and pack 220 miles
$37K standard plus 240 mile range, upgraded 12 way adjustable front seats and upgraded stereo (probably the low price that people buy)
$40K mid range premium 260 mile range, better 14 speaker stereo, satellite traffic aware maps, internet music
$43K long range rwd premium, same but 325 mile range 5 seconds 0-60
$47K dual long range (awd) 310 mile range 4.5 sec 0-60
$58K performance (awd) 310 mile range 3.2 sec 0-60 (20" wheels, better brakes, track traction control setting, lowered body).

Stock is slightly lower in after hours trading because lower pricing probably means lower profit margins. Its likely tesla has cut their costs to do this, so we will have to wait to see how much volume goes up and profitability later in the year. IMHO this is a short term drop in profit for long term bid to get bev ambassadors out there that love their cars and cause future sales.

No problem, he'll make it up in volume <rim shot>

If it is Friday, a big bond payment was made. So Reno and Fremont are changing:

My hope is TSLA will drop low enough that my bid will snatch some stock. Then in 30 days when the production numbers come out ... about the time I need to settle my Model 3 purchase.

I was in an i-pace recently and while it looked nice it felt like a lot of other crossovers - a lot of bad use of space. Despite being pretty large outside (and way too high off the ground to attract any of our purchasing dollars), the interior didn't really feel spacious. I'm not a big guy either.

We had an f-pace loaner while our Tesla was in for service (Tesla ownership has meant we have gotten to drive quite a few "luxury " rental cars) and I was really glad to give it back. The damn thing (apart from being a fatass SUV) had a heated windshield. This meant there were a ton of thin wires embedded into the glass, which made driving like staring through a screen door.
