Will get the conversion cable hopefully this week and probably do the install over the weekend. Will let you know if I run into any issues.

    Thanks!

You're welcome. The conversion cable I used was JDM so it did not turn on the side marker bulb. I had to add a wire and solder it to one of the existing ones. Japan headlights do not have side markers.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the conversion cable is JDM as well so I might run into the same problem. Is there a reason to have that light lit up? Or is simply like the parking light? I don't think it acts as a turn signal does it?

It runs with the parking lights. If your state and locality has a safety inspection, the car would fail if the light is not working.

Okay then yeah, definitely need to get those working. Do you have a picture of how you managed to make them work?

When I worked in a Pa. State Inspection Station, if a car had a light it had to work.
I live in Indiana now and there is no state inspection and I see a lot of people running with burnt lights out.

My post #75 in this thread (I don't know how to link, sorry).

You need another terminal to click into the big gray plug, then solder it to the parking light wire.

I see it now. So I assume this little black circle is where I'd have to wire the wire through to get the parking light?

    EDIT:

Actually, looking closer at your picture and it looks like it's the other end I have to wire it through and connect it to the other wire.

In the process of installing the assemblies but I can’t seem to get the low beams to work. I’ve tried switching the cables between left and right, turning the connectors over to make sure they’re the right side in, changing where the parking light connector is plugged into (either the assembly itself or the conversion cable), and neither side is wanting to work. High beams work and the old lights work, but not the new ones still..

Do your headlights have the computers on them? Make sure they are plugged in. Did you test both sides?

Yeah, tested both sides. And what do you mean by computers? Not too familiar with cars, this is my first “real” car job.

The led headlights have a module mounted on the bottom of each side

This is what the full backside of the assembly consists of.

Ugh that's what I was afraid of. You see the white plug and the black plug not connected to anything? You are missing the headlight module.

Shit, I don’t think so. I’d assume that those would plug into these?

Yes, here is what you are missing. 1 per side. Search eBay for the cheapest ones (that work or you're taking a chance).

Damn it. The listing even mentioned they were ready to go.. o well. I got them for fairly cheap and I guess I can switch out my high beams now at least for the time being.

Sorry to hear that. I see them for 150-350 with and without the ballast / computer. Ballast would only be correct if it were HID but you know, people call them different things. I saw a couple during a quick look on eBay for about $130 each

Yeah, I’d say I should of been more careful but quite frankly I didn’t know any better. Just a life lesson learned and it’s my dream to restore classic cars in the future so this is just a fairly cheap (~$100) life lesson. Plus, it gives me the opportunity to be more comfortable with taking apart my car and gave me the opportunity to be able to switch out my high beams and parking lights with LEDs.

The newer style has a smaller module mounted on a plastic cover. The newer style headlight has an led "eyebrow" in the front top instead of a 194 bulb. And the high beam area is square not round.
