I've seen 1650eur dealer quotes (2000eur installed) from two EU members here, one from the Netherlands as well. Same about the core charge (not needed). I'm not sure what's up with battery prices in the US... Apparently a gs450h pack runs for $7k which is uhh… offensive, given that it's 40 modules vs 28 in the prius. Then again, lexus. I wonder what the asking price is for a ct200h pack (same as prius) :p

Please post a link (or phone number) to where one can purchase a New Genuine Toyota for less than $2000. Thanks.

So 6 months later my Gen2 battery is working perfectly, and no signs of any issues. Ordered another one for my friend, which was a no brainer over the oem one from toyota as he's selling his core modules on ebay for 35% or so of the cost of the battery after fees and shipping. When I did mine I did really well and it net cost me approx $900. For him since it'll selling them cheaper, it'll probably be a net of $1100 or so after selling modules. That and it's tax free for us over in california, where sales tax is ~8%. Most of these cars have oil consumption issues, so at this point the engine/trans will probably fail before these new replacement packs. Well that and the resale on our 2007's are like 4k now so 500-700 makes a big difference vs the toyota packs.

MPG is more or less the same as before, except the car has more power and stays in the green more than before which is how it was when it was new.

I did a quick search and didn't see anything, and I apologize in advance if this has been asked before:

Can you use the Prolong on this Replacement Kit to keep it running longer?

I have a Prolong, and when the battery needs replacing, I would consider this kit.

There is nothing that would prevent you from using the Prolong kit. I would install the connector/harness at the time you install this kit and just make sure it all works. Then leave it alone for 3-5 years. Then start using it. By top balancing perfectly healthy brand new cells, you will take life away from them. There's no benefit to doing this to new cells, it's all bad news. But in 3-5 years, there should be enough degradation that pack balancing should have a meaningful healthy impact.

@2k1Toaster - I drive a 2010 HiHy that is close to 190k miles now. When the time comes that my Hybrid battery starts giving trouble, is there any possibility that my HiHy's hybrid battery can be rebuilt with your modules?

Has any of your customers done that yet?
    Thanks

I suspect you would need a harness.

I already have the prolong kit and the harness installed. Is that harness what you are talking about?

Have used it once so far about a year ago to do the reconditioning. However, I couldn't hear / feel the battery cooling fans running so I did only the first 2 rounds of reconditioning and not the 3rd and final one.

The kit comes with either a Gen 2 or Gen 3 harness. @2k1Toaster may need to have one made for the HyHy.

The kit has half the number of modules, each twice the capacity of the OEM ones.

@Prodigyplace is correct. You would need a harness. The harness connects each module back to the ECU, you do not use the original wiring harness.

We make harnesses for the Prius Gen-2, Prius Gen-3, Prius C, Camry XV40, Camry XV50, Lexus GS450h, and Ford Escape Hybrid. In the custom wiring harness game, we generally ship a Lexus GS450h harness. This will fit the modules but won't fit your ECU. So you'd need to modify either your original or a spare/donor/eBay-junker harness to splice the OEM ECU connector to the new ring terminals on the harness. The batteries themselves are easy and will work no problem.

When the warranties from Toyota start expiring, then yes maybe!

My car warranty has already expired, but not the hybrid warranty.

By the time your new Prius needs a battery, I'm sure he'll have one up and a great kit will be offfered.
