If I do it I would be trading in my 2013 Prius 3 for $10K

    Sticker is 30,911

You think i can get it for less even though there is $6100 in cash back rebates?

    30,911
    - 10000 trade
    20911
    22719 with 8.65%
    - 6100 rebates and cash back
    16619
    - 5000 down payment
    11619 finance amount

I drove it yesterday, I love it.

Anyone else have a 2018 Prime and want to share their experiences?

    Pros / Cons?

You forgot $4502 tax credit if you can claim that much for this year's federal tax. It would be a big upgrade from Gen3, but you will suffer the loss of cargo space and middle rear seat if that matters to you.

We love our now 3 month old Premium, and would get it again in a heart beat. This model included a lot of "extras" above the Prime Plus for a modest increase in price while the Advanced was too pricey for our needs with what it added (YMMV, several owners here love their Advanced models). Don't forget too, that with any Prime you may be eligible for up to $4502 federal tax credit.

Short story: it is a superb auto at a killer price usually, with rebates and state and federal incentives, less expensive than a plain Jane Prius.

i just bought one , and probably buying another . both 2018 premium. check out the prices paid thread, you might be able to get a little more off in dealer rebates. maybe not in LI though...
i thought the premium was the right amount of upgrades over the plus, for the right price. the advance was just not worth the extra 4k to me. overall i love the car, love that its a toyota, reliable, love that its a prius, low maintenance, love that its PHEV no cost for local driving (i can charge for free at work and home). love the look... ok not love, but its pretty nice and better than the regular prius ;)
fed and state rebates with manufacturer rebate make the price unbelievably good. thus my imminent purchase of another one since the wife totalled her car...

heres my prices from princeton, from the other thread
    • 2018 Prius Prime Premium / Titanium Glow / Black Softex Interior
    • MSRP: $30,930 (29000 MSRP +1010 options+920 delivery/processing fee)
    • Included all-weather floor mats/trunk liner, regular floor mats/trunk liner. side molding, door edge guards, bumper applique, tonneau, wheel locks, vin etching.(some of this crap i didnt want but it was already done so whatever, dealer incentives made up for some of it)
    • $5,000 Toyota Bonus Cash (available 1/4/19-2/28/19 on 2018 models in NJ.
    • Dealer knocked off about $1953, hard to detail as it was re-absorbed by tax, dealer fees, etc.
    • Final price out the door after PA tax($1439), tags/fees($507= 299dlr +208reg/title): $25,923.00
    • Toyota of Princeton, NJ
    • another math version
    • MSRP30930-dlr incentives1953= 28977-rebate5000= 23977+tax1439+ tags/fees507 = 25,923 OTD
Federal Tax Credit should be 4502 and state rebate for PA should be 750.
which brings it down to $20,671.

Tax credit does not lower the price of the car. Tax credit of $4502 is removed from your taxable income.

I am having difficulties getting anything off of the Prius Prime in Middle Island., NY Premium there is $30,911, they are taking off only $400.
and only giving me 7500 on my trade.

    What should I do?

Effectively lowering the price of the car $4502 when you file your taxes next year if you have enough tax liability.

Are you talking about a 2018 or 2019? I heard NY dealers don't discount much. Maybe because there's a NY state rebate.
