It could be the "EV" leaf icon on the Hybrid System Indicator (it's also customisable through the MID settings).

I'm pretty sure it's the silly message that pops up when you get in the car telling you how to start it. I just got Carista. I'll see if that's it.

I turned off the start indicator using Carista and the above message didn't come up next time I got in the car.

I doubt it. I think that is one of those "safety" messages mandated by either lawyers or lawmakers, likely both.

I already know how to start it! That's the silly message that pops up telling the thief who has your fob how to start the car. . .

Buu that does not tell you the engine has started. I'll bet if you follow those instructions, the engine STILL does not start.

It was a quick turn-around between turning it off and then getting back in. The better test will be tomorrow morning. Also in the morning, I'll see if I get another message telling me that a new fob has been programed and I should see the dealer. I think it was 10 days ago today that I got the new spare.

    Or the parking valet.
A number of years ago a valet in NYC chased down my son not knowing how to start the Prius v even though he had a card with instructions.

Well, after a good long wait, I went out to check, and the message telling me how to start the car did not pop up. So, that's what the setting in Carista is for. And I don't let valets drive my cars anyway. ;)

In NYC they pack the cars like sardines into the lots.
My son could not take the train to NYC because he was showing his dog at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show at Madison Square Garden and they do not allow dogs on the train.

A bit of a thread revival here :)

Just an update on anyone looking into Carista:
-When you click on purchase at their website it now redirects you to ECS tuning to actually purchase it. Which is what I did, (even though ECS says it only works on Audi/VW I can confirm it works on Toyota as well).
-It was around $40 including shipping and then when you scan your car and actually click on something to change then it informs you that you must purchase a plan from Carista, I chose the 1 month which is $10, then just cancel before the month is up so it doesn’t auto renew.
-It still does all the features mentioned earlier in this thread, however it seems that you can no longer mute the parking sensors after being stationary for 3 seconds, it only gives you the option to turn them down to level 1…. UNLESS I’M MISSING SOMETHING… Maybe this is model specific?? I have 2021 xle awd.

I was still able to do the major things i.e. 1 beep on backup (thank the lord), roll down windows with long press on remote (silly you can’t raise them this way too), etc, etc…..

Hope this is helpful to someone contemplating purchase…

Thank you for the thread revival, it's useful info - for me, at least!

I think that rolling down the windows is absolutely a must-have, especially in the summer... And it is unbelievable that you can't raise them? How is that even (im)possible??
