Not just you. As I wrote earlier, the (absolutely terrible) experience with Honda Hybrids has made sure I will never consider another Honda. I'm happy with the Prime, but as you said, here in SoCal (Edison territory) electricity is often more than gas, esp with latest rate increase in the lower tier. (And by the way, in the coming months they're going to force everyone off their current plan and into Time of Use plans, and you'll then have to then OPT OUT of it to have the normal plans. Be on the lookout for it). For now the Prime is good for me to. In 12 years, we'll have to see what the car landscape is like...

2019. Run fast, dealers are clearing out Clarity's and I think Honda is going to stop producing it.

We got switched to Clean Power Alliance, but billing still done by SCE....

For what its worth, still miss the C-MAX Energi we traded in for the Clarity. For some reason my wife did not look at Prii shopping around this last time.....

It's possible the Clarity is a stop gap model until the FCEV designed in partnership with GM comes to market.

The biggest turnoff for me with the Prius is no Apple car play. Seriously, Wth

Clarity has three versions, full EV, FCEV, and PHEV. Android Auto and Apple Car Play are included. Navigation maps provided by Garmin, free for 5 years, if you opt for navigation.

Unfortunately my wife found out she’s uncomfortable with handling on the freeway. (I told her to try Sport Mode but I don’t think she has). Sounds like she’s driving slow for traffic conditions, but not sure what exactly the cause, poor power, larger dimensions, or....

Most dealers in my area are either out of or has 1-2 in stock. I believe Honda is going to stop making Clarity plugin.

Some one convince me that I should not trade my Prius Prime Advanced for the Honda Clarity. Torn between my Prime and the more range of the Clarity!

Only if you're a resident of CA, you get $6000 off. It's not worth it without a discount.

Try to go see one in person. Play around with the infotainment and the connectivity, ie. what you can accomplish from outside your car/from home. It’s somewhat lacking compared to the ‘13 C-MAX Energi my wife traded in for it, connectivity wise. For example you can set it to charge from 10 pm to 8 am, just like in the Ford, but if you plug in anytime after 10:00 pm on the dot, it will not charge unless you activate it by holding the charge button on the remote. The Ford will automatically charge plugged in within that time frame, but does not have the charge immediately button on the key fob. Kind of a trade off. Locating the vehicle worked better on the C-MAX...

Will just stick with my 2018 Prime Advanced for now. Can't beat the reliability and HV gas mileage.

Maybe Toyota will make an HV with more EV range.

Wife didn't like the trunk size anyway.

    Thanks for the info.

Like most plug-in's and more and more newer vehicles, there's no spare so I got one for my Clarity and wanted to see how much luggage space would still be available while carrying it on long trips. It's no hatchback but the trunk is not small.

Trading in a 2018 Prime wouldn't make financial sense. The extra (and wonderful) EV range wouldn't come close to making up the difference.

Do you have details on this spare option? I was going to replace with runflats, but my wife has a deposit on a Tesla Model Y and may get rid of if before it needs tires....

There are many threads on this, search.

Buy it used, a used (Brand New, never driven on) spare out of a wrecked Prius typically costs between ~$79 to ~$99 shipped. Ideally you want a 135/80-16 spare tire/wheel combo.

I think @jzchen is asking about a spare tire for Clarity @fotomoto posted above. It comes with 18 inch OEM tire, and I think different bolt pattern from Toyota.

I just got one from ebay listed for the Clarity. I believe it's from an Accord.
