Guess I'll have to figure out what that is and look ;)

Can you get rid of the ones that tell you how to start the car an use the CC? Pretty unnecessary.

The weathertechs fit up inside the window seal, much better than glue on.

I guess there is more than one kind? My rear cover is a roller shade, same as it was in the Gen 2s. It fits in the slot at the rear of the car where the tire tools are and the charger cord can go. Not at the same time though.

All seasons are good for all seasons where it doesn't snow.

In France they are called Belgian Fries.

Some guy wrote an article on French Fries. Said Five Guys were the best In N Out the worst. My second cousin retired as a vice president from In N Out. Don't have that chain anywhere around here.

There is a different, lighter cover for lower hatchback and Prime trims.

The "Drive Monitor" is this display in MID. You can see it by toggling the wheel switch. By selecting ODO, TripA, TripB on the wheel switch, you will see the corresponding data for those three driving distance. See mine below. IF your ODO and TRIPB is the same distance and data are the same, it should show identical TIME, Average Speed, and EV ratio.

CAUTION: If you want to preserve lifetime mpg on your car, do not reset the average fuel efficiency corresponding to ODO. The number shown is "after reset". if you did not reset will keep showing lifetime mpg, average speed, and EV ratio.

I agree completely!! But I haven't yet found a way to get rid of them. I feel like my car thinks I'm an idiot.

I know, but the looks are a matter of opinion. The price is a real number. Mine look just fine to me, work just as well, and cost less than half as much.

Right. Only the Advanced gets the window shade style as standard. But either car can use either kind if you want to spend the money. (I know you know this, @Prodigyplace. It' for those who might not. ;))

Are you sure? I believe the side trim pieces in the cargo area are different. The light cover uses hooks instead of indentations in the sides.
in fact, one complaint about the 2017.5 Two Eco Hatchback was that they deleted the cargo cover and used side moldings that would not accept the hooks without replacement. (I guess the added BSM & other safety features added weight??)

My side pieces do not have the indentations for the roller cover.

That's true for PRIME Premium (and likely Plus). It would take a major mod to accept the roll shade type tonneau cover from Advanced trim.

Four weeks today! So, after four weeks, I'm still learning stuff. I think that's a good thing. <need head scratching emoticon>

I filled the gas tank for a base-line two days after I got it. So that's what I'm counting as my starting point for statistics.

I've put 117 kWh into the battery from my own wall plus however much from other free sources. Those free electrons might add up to around 90-100 kWh? Hard to know unless I take and record my killawatt meter everywhere I go. I'm not THAT anal retentive!!

Gas gauge reads between 3/4 and 7/8. I'll call it 13/16.

Miles on this tank so far? 1203.8

If I switch to metric, it claims I'm burning 0.6 L/100 km. That converts to 392 U.S. MPG. But that's very imprecise due to the size of the rounding errors with such small numbers. I'll have a better idea when I buy gas, probably on May 3 as we head out west on our trip. (For obvious reasons, it might be a while before I can get on here with that report.)

Guessing at 2 gallons burned at $2.65/gal (current price) from an estimate based on the gas gauge (13/16 of 11 gallons), and 117 kWh electricity bought at about 12 cent/kWh, that comes to about 1.6 cents per mile. So far. Our trip next month will obviously raise that number a whole bunch. It will probably take most of a year to get a realistic idea of the cost per mile to fuel this thing.

I knew it would be better than the PiP. It averaged 4 cents per mile from gas & electricity over the 2-1/4 years I owned it. But this it even better than anticipated.

Something cool not related to economy. Last night I saw another Prime. It was an advanced that was being driven sort of beside/behind/in front of me. (He was driving rather un-Prius-like with big big changes in speed!) First thing I noticed was that the LED headlights were not bad at all in my mirror. I'd had some concerns since they light the road so well. I'm hoping my lights are set like his. So far, I've only been flashed once and that was meeting another car at the crest of a very gentle hill. Second nice observation is that the brake lights look very cool!!!

Here's what mine look like. The hooks are more than finger tight, so I suspect there is a screw holding them from the back.

Yup. In the settings for the MID —> Pop up information —> navigation —> off

I thought you just pop up the trim piece with the hook and replace it with the piece that accepts the roller shade bar?

I said for the ROLLER cover. I have the hooks. I think the indentations for the roller cover permit installation from above.

Hummm, looking at Jerry's pic, indentation is there. But how the roller piece would fit in there (after removing the hook)? Is it spring loaded? I thought the hard roll up tonneau cover in my previous Gen3 had a groove to slide in the roller piece into the place???

It’s spring loaded on both sides (Gen 2/3 was spring loaded on one side)

Hmm, taking a second look at the photo, it looks like you just have to remove the hook piece (assuming you’re ok with a hole where ours would be finished with a plastic cover. You won’t see the hole anyway when the roller cover is in place.)

My guess is that it's spring loaded, unlike the gen 3. Otherwise, why the built in hooks at the back for the shade to slip into? We need one of our Advanced owners to chip in here and illuminate us lowly Plus & Premium owners. :D

Never mind. @Tideland Prius beat me to it.

Here you go. The first photo is the crevice where the bar will go in. You’ll see the round plastic piece that’ll is replaced by the hook piece on the Plus and Premium models.

The second is just where the cover would hook into place.

Well, according to @Tideland Prius Gen3 tonneau cover was also spring loaded. I guess, I never removed it while I owned my Gen3, so I don't remember it. In any case, I found the flexible "black pantyhose" cover that came with my PRIME is far more useful than the hard cover I had on GEN3 for it can flex and accommodate cargo taller than the covered height. But I have removed it completely now. I keep my both rear seats folded most of the time and use old worn out quilt for covering the cargo.

OK, I remember the hatchback being different. Parts for the hatchback are different depending whether the car has a spare tire or not.
I remember the Gen 4 to be different. I know @Tideland Prius has one. Mine has the flex cover. Sounds like I have something to check at lunch time today.
We need our daily dose of "off topic" in this thread, My Gen 4 may be today's dose. ;)

Fresh observation on efficiency. I got home last night with EV depleted. So, I reset my power meter and did a full charge. It took 6,355 watts to fill the battery. The GOM predicted 36.1 miles of EV range w/o any climate control. With A/C, the GOM was about 35 miles or maybe 34.9, iirc. I should have taken a picture. Since I nearly always us A/C, that's the real number.

So, about 5.5 miles/kWh from the wall. Knock it down to a 30 mile range since the GOM was a little optimistic, in my opinion, and it's 4.7 miles/kWh. My Eco diary shows from 4.8 to 6.2 in daily driving.

A little over 6 KWH charge from depleted is what I'm experiencing also.

The Prime traction battery is rated at 8.8 KWH. What does the 6KWHish charge from depleted mean:
    a. 80% charge (.8 x 8.8KWH);
    b. 100% charge to 8.8KWH (depleted means the traction battery still has 1.76KWH when charging begins); or
    c. None of the above Marine Ray - you have no idea how EVs work. PriusChat explain it to me.

Recent post by Skylis A adds some clarity:

If I recall, ScanGauge II reads:

83% SOC when battery is fully charged
14% SOC when it gets to 0.0 miles and enters hybrid mode

You are close, but answer is c. It charges from 13% (EV depleted) to 80% (EV full), roughly. The car does not allow to deplete the battery completely nor allows to fully charge it.

Edit: Oh, I see you edited your answer. Yes, scan gauge is correct.
