Why are black interiors so popular these days?

Coming from a Gen3 tan interior, the moonstone doesn’t seem that appealing, so I’ll welcome change;).

I just wish they had a noble brown interior like the wife’s RX450h available :).

Then I’d club up in trim package (y).

I hate tan color personally but it is probably the best color to hide many types of stain or soil the seats encounter if you have kids, dogs, carts, etc in your car!

I’m the function over form type so most of the mods I have done to our Prius don’t look aesthetically pleasing, but they work:).

    Like:
    • the black LeBra I put on the front for preventing rock chips (less expensive than the clear bra and more effective)
    • Window vent shades (allow for air flow out of the car during hot summer months and prevent things from falling in)
    • Seat cover on the drivers seat (cheap one from Wally World as I am the only one in the car 90% of the time)
The tan fabric arm rest is stained where my elbow sits:eek:.

    So it’s only so good:cool:

Light tan? Terrible: our last Civic was thus, and sadly a lot of "high traffic" zones were cloth upholstered thus.

    True:(.

Or since I park near a salt pile at work, fine Chilean salt from entering which is the more common occurrence .

Also works well for sitting in traffic during the rainy season to avoid having to run the defrost;).

    I’m a thrifty lad(y).

Personal opinion - the moonstone was horrid. Big white glare on the dash, seats that will show dirt forever. I live in NE and all the dealers had were Advanced with moonstone interiors, no discounts. I flew to CA to $125 and picked up a white over black Premium and drove it home. I want the interior to disappear, not to stick out. So, it's black interior for me.

I once had a beige interior VW Passat and that was the worst - looked dirty every day. Since then, every interior has been black or grey.
