I'd try it- if the price was any good.

We drove most of the last 100k miles in the old car using the walmart store brand stuff, saved a bundle that way too. We still have that car. Engine still hasn't exploded, choked a river with sludge, taken children hostage or even cheated at golf yet.

I have found some Amazon Basics stuff OK and others, not so much.
After one order, we now avoid the Amazon Basics alkaline batteries. They did not last nearly as well as our normal Duracell ones.
I am not sure I would trust that for areas I cannot physically observe.

Here is their 5 quart version.

People at Bob is the Oil Guy, have run analysis of Walmart's oil, and it is on par with the brand name oils. They even have 0W-xx available in the syntehtic. It just seems to always be sold out when I go to get it. So went with Mobil's 15k mile extended interval for the Camry; was very close to Walmart's in cost per mile for the 10k mile interval.

If someone ever does find an inadequate motor oil for sale in the USA I predict it will sell very well (in sample quantities) to BITOG readers so they can all point at it and say "SEE! I told you there was too such a thing!!"

Personally I'm convinced that bad motor oil basically does not exist anymore; anyone trying to sell it in this country would be hunted down, beaten, drowned, poked with sticks, doxxed, fed into brush shredders, lit on fire, made fun of on youtube, and subsequently sued into a new dimension.

Yes, I think some are better than others but it's mostly hair-splitting.
