    Prius has to be the most written and talked about car in all of history! After having 6 Toyota’s over the years.....I can’t wait to buy another. No article in the LA Times or a dealer who has a beef with Toyota is going to change my mind. Toyota builds the best cars and trucks in the world!

    I don't see what rational there is in being dismissive over a a recall. From the article;
    No manufacturer, no matter how high the quality usually is, is immune from recalls, & having to own up to its mistakes is the best way to Garner Goodwill. Conversely, if there are stall tactics, it often makes their fanbase loose some amount of loyalty.
    You think for a moment, when a person gets seriously injured from being rear-ended, in a car that may have an issue of stalling or limp mode, that the actuaries don't crunch the number of how big lawsuits might be for remedies versus $2,000 a piece for 10's of 1,000's of inverters? Many here are too young to remember how bad this can go. Ford, in the 1970's, built a car that was prone to fires when they got hit from the rear, & when evidence was discovered that the foot-dragging of Ford happened because the payouts were cheaper to settle injury lawsuits .... that's when Ford's good will REALLY went down the toilet, not to mention how costly it was to Fords bottom line. If it were you or I who got rear-ended because our car lost power , & we were injured in a rear ender, suddenly the issue would become personal, & perhaps we could show a little more understanding.
