I had my battery replaced at the dealership in January. I am sure that they would not take the added step of keeping a 12 volt system active while they changed out the batteries. I did not lose any data including trip odometers. The only setting I lost was the time of day on the clock.

I recall TRIP B (which I never reset except on a long trip) reset itself at, if I remember right, 9999km - which is ?x? miles - 6213 I think. Not sure why. It must have reset itself since, but not sure when, I never look at it.

Trip "A" and "B" don't have enough digits to display beyond 9999. They don't reset, they just truncate - the data is still valid, just add a 1 to the left. And then eventually the 1 turns into a 2 and so on...

Oh - so use your imagination.

I guess, when, I think VOLVO came out (at least they advertised it) with the Million Mile (999999) Odometer, the ODO only went 999 miles. So 9999 is 10 times longer:

In fact, you could probably check it by switching to miles. I can't do that because I am in that short number of '16 Prius that don't have the ability to switch back and forth.

Mine is one which is stuck on kilometers only too. Was that a Canada special which had both?

I thought most had both. Now I don't feel so special anymore...

Rolled over to 20,000 in my '67 recently - Trip B reset to 0 here (I reset Trip A at each fill up). I discounted it at 10k last time as thought the service centre had reset it but I reached 21,000 before my 2nd service this week.
