    Greetings fellow PriusChat members.

My name is Max, I am a Canadian staying in Taiwan. I've been around the earth a few times and during my travels I was lucky to have found this neat auto part which I'm bringing to the international market.

I am pleased to host this contest for members of PriusChat for the opportunity to win a Red Bullet.
What is a Red Bullet you ask? And why would you as a member want to win one?
To answer your question I'll need to take a trip down memory lane. But in short here are 5 key points to describe what the Red Bullet does for you:
    20190508_212229.jpg

#1 It is a VVTI solenoid with enhanced performance in the color of "Red" so we called it the Red Bullet! Please keep reading...

#2 It will make your hybrid vehicle feel like a regular car granting you increased throttle response and better fuel economy at the same time.
Have you ever felt underpowered, bad pickup, and stepping on the gas but not going anywhere while watching your fuel economy go out the window? This is for you!

#3 Giving you increased acceleration for highway merge and the ability to keep up with traffic without sacrificing fuel efficiency.
Some say highway merge was not written in the things to do by the Hybrids. The Red Bullet will make it better.

#4 Enhanced VVTI speed of adaptive capability during all stages of operation (cold start, low idle, low load, heavy load, hard acceleration, high speed cruise)

#5 Easy to install by yourself, only takes 10min and a 10mm hex wrench. A warm coffee always helps.

You may find more information on the Red Bullet discussion page.

Hints to help you guess the right amount of gas to win are written below! Please keep reading

I came across this impressive item after purchasing my Toyota Prius C here in Taiwan.

I was skeptical in the beginning as were some members here but I'm happy that I manned up and gave it a shot. I thought to myself; worse case I lose $150 and call it a day.

The fundamentals behind the unit was sound at the time, having some mechanical background I easily understood what I was dealing with.
In the worst situation I would put back the original solenoid and use the Red Bullet as a $150 paperweight.

To my surprise and a few lucky others here on PriusChat the $150 paperweight was not to be.

After a few weeks of discussion, the Red Bullet started to become something of a hot topic in the Prius C page. Many senior and new members gave feedback helping us move forward to the success of what we have today. I thank you for your contributions.

Soon after I realised what I had discovered, I swiftly moved ahead and spoke to the manufacturer to become the international distributor for The Red Bullet. I established a company to distribute the Red Bullet to the international market. MaxJen International was formed. From my travels and connections I was able to quickly set up MaxJen North America( based out of Canada), Europe and Taiwan sub sectors.

Due to the efficiency of The Red Bullet I'm going to attempt driving 900 km with one tank of gas on a Prius C.
For the Prius Gen 3, 4, V, alpha and Prius prime owners information, the Prius C gas tank only holds 35 liters. And yes I do have the corresponding part for your 1.8l engine! So this contest is not just for the Prius C owners!

The math shows I will have to do 27km/l average to be able to achieve 900km range with a little margin for error. I have already done the highway test with the Red Bullet and was able to get a ground breaking 858km with 33.08l of gas. The average was 26km/l. Although the computer showed 26.8km at the end of my run.

What you will have to do to win is guess how much gas I will need to put in after I hit 901km. One guess for each member. Please let us know what vehicle you have, which year and you answer to the contest. Accuracy of the pump is to the 0.01of a liter.

So please be specific as you can for example 34.55l will be an acceptable entry.
On the other hand a guess of 34.6l and no vehicle information will not enter the contest and thus wasted your shot.

    Entry details:
    Year of your vehicle:
    Model:
    Liters: xx.xx liter
    That's it!

I will be able to pick one single winner who is right on or the next higher. Please check your fellow members who posted before you so not to overlap. If you have a number in mind, I would suggest you post it before someone beats you to it. If there is a overlap entry then the earlier posting will be selected.

As PriusChat admins have not established a contract with me, so I can not sell here, I can only give away for free in forms of contest which I have done so previously.

Good luck to everyone! Last update of where my mileage is at is available on the mileage brags at the prius C page, study it so you can make a informed guess.

Point of clarification... PC holds 36 litres.
    Year of your vehicle: 2012
    Model: PC 4
Liters: 34.45 liters (This can be widely variable depending on gas pump and how many clicks you put it to. I'm assuming you stop at first click and don't round up to a $ amount, or top off.)

I'll sleep better at night knowing its 36l, thank you. 1st click Ztanos! I wouldn't have it any other way.
Half pull of the lever after 25l to give the fuel a chance to settle into the compartments and get out all the air pockets.
I'll even get a buddy to video tape it and post it on YouTube!

This will be the last update until the refuel.
I'm petty sure it will start flashing the last bar very soon. But I'm still confident that we will make it to 901km!

I run 50 miles after the beep, always. So, as long as you're at 820 when the beep goes off, I would be extremely confident you'll make it to 900.

The beep went off short! 805-806km.
I think I will be fine! but it will be cutting it close! Lets call the beep reserve. I think there should be roughly 3.6L reserve. So according to the computer, my average is 27.2. I should have 2km left before I totally run dry. 2km is not a margin I am comfortable with.

The drives lately are very short, infrequent and full of stand still traffic. But it does totally reflect daily use hence I am going to push on and gun for the 901km.
Knock on wood and wish me luck guys!

From my understanding you have 1-1.5 gallons of gas once the beep goes off (pretty much seen this to be true, roughly).

    3.78L-5.67L.

If you're doing 50mpg (which it sounds like you're doing better than that) you'll get around 75 miles before the tank empties.

You saying you're getting around 27 is amazing. I'm going to guess short and say 24 to be on the safe side with your short trips.

I'd say you can go another 136 km before empty if you run at 24 km/L.

If you only go 1 gallon or 3.78L, that is still ~91km. I'd do it, but I'm bold. :D

If you get it back up to 27 for the last 3.78L, that comes to ~102.2km.

    Hi there ztanos,

I want you to be right on the 3.78l here. I'm worried its 3.6l. My drive is holding stable 27.1-27.2km. I was able to go to 28km before when I was doing medium length trips. But now after 800km the computer is stabilized at 27.1km.
So integrating your info with my logs, i should have 7km to buffer instead of 2km.
I will be driving tomorrow for my seminar then my PhD obligations are done for this school year until September.
I will be traveling to Canada and USA for product distribution and maybe Europe too if my associate needs some help.

I can almost taste the 901km. I think I will reach it tomorrow or the day after if not then surely this week.
I will keep you guys posted on my progress.
    Thanks ztanos for the info!

Wait so you drive 50 miles after the beep before fill up? The pump life will be shortened due to cooling. Makes me wonder how far down the pickup is located and what particles are down there.

I routinely and often drive my cars to the limit of the fuel capacity. I call hogwash on shortened pump life.

I guarantee that something else will break this car to the point of me not being able to drive it long before the fuel pump goes out. :D I've been doing it on all of my cars, forever... not once have I had to replace one yet.
The fuel pump doesn't need a lot of fluid to stay cool and I'm not running it out completely. If I average 50 mpg after the beep goes down, I still have .5 gallons left. That's 1/19th of the tank. :D
