I’m not even sure how to post. I’m new and have a question I want to run by the group but can’t seem to find where to create new post.

    Be not afraid.

We don’t have many ‘forum sherrifs’ in these parts.
If you accidentally post a question in the wrong place then a moderator (mod) can move it for you.

There’s NO such thing as a stupid question.

    Good Luck!

I think double posting is a more serious "infraction" than posting in wrong forum. It just gets confusing/frustrating for responders, and one thread usually gets "orphaned".

Yeah make sure you know your car model, what generation it is, what the subject is, post appropriately, and if it turns out there was a better location: "report" your posting, which alerts the moderators that it might be the wrong forum, and they can take a look, move it if warranted.

  7. Glad to see a thread like this.

When I joined my first forum MacRumors back in 2001 or 2002 (can’t remember which year), I gave a very nice introduction for others to get to know me (and I had been a Mac user for 10 years as well). Instead of being welcomed, other posters on the forum judged and harassed me. I was made fun of, my preferences were scoffed at, I was personally disrespected, and later on I was repeatedly taunted and bullied outright by one of the moderators, who was never fired.

Needless to say, I stayed for 4 years to “give the forums a try anyway,” then posted that I was leaving because of ongoing harassment. They proceeded to lock my account on my way out the door.

So, having a “Welcome” thread like this gives y’all the space to introduce yourselves and be respected for that, unlike what I experienced at least.

(On a side note, I just wanted to mention that all n00bs who introduce themselves are also required to pay the PriusChat Introduction fee of $5.00, plus an electronic convenience fee, all of these go to me, and you will receive your bill via PM in 6-8 business days. :D )

This capacitor worked for a few months it's a 220 UF 16 volt but now it's burned up and the dash panel has dark spots on all four corners of display. Any fix or do I need a full replacement?

    Depends.
    Can you solder?

Capacitors are usually pretty good about keeping the magic smoke inside. They only let it out when they get mad about things like temperature, voltage transients, etc.

Still.....won't cost you much to find out.
