I'm finding it really hard to get concrete information on the 2019 Prius in the UK. The dealer only has brochures for the 2018 model (with the aggressive styling). So I thought I'd jump on toyota's UK website and grab the brochure from there. But that for the Prius there is no brochure, just a price list PDF! What gives? It's nearly the middle of May in 2019 but the dealers and the website don't have a brochure? A bit of a marketing blunder surely?

Despite that, I've actually just ordered one today but the delivery date is September! Sounds like this might be more of a 2020 model!

Final question - anyone know why the 11" touchscreen available in the US isn't an option in the UK? With the Tesla Model 3 available to order here (with deliveries starting in June apparently) I would have thought the larger touch screen to be essential to field off the competition.

If anyone has a UK 2019 brochure - I'd love you to upload it for me... :) Thanks!

    Australia gets a brochure:

We get the smaller screen - it doesn't look as ugly as the US huge screen. And it's got knobs this time.

Thanks, really appreciate that, and yes the on screen graphics on the 11” in that pic look terrible! Thanks!

Interesting to see the differences in trim levels between the different countries. We have about 5 different trims and a cool grey leather option on the top trim. Wired you guys only get black fabric or leather. Why do they make each country so different? You would think it would save costs to keep them the same!

The US does not even get real leather, just the Softex fake stuff. Some of us drive on the right side of the road and others drive on the "wrong" side :D That means different headlamps, at a minimum..

I'm honestly not sure the 11" screen is a good choice in the US given that the Prius *still* doesn't have CarPlay or Android Auto support (at least not that I can find). That 11" screen would make it nearly impossible to trade out for another head unit, while the smaller screen appears to still be in a pretty standard double DIN mount that should be pretty easy to replace. So IMHO you're not missing much.

There is no brochure in the UK (it took months for them to publish a brochure for the new Corolla, they're hopeless). If you want to view specs etc, the best thing is to use the configurator on the website.

16 weeks delivery for a new Prius is to be expected. I am imminently about to order one myself. I have flip-flopped for weeks between the Prius and the Corolla hybrid, but finally come down on the side of the Prius. Excel with 15" wheels. Expecting delivery in September like you.

As a foreigner, I found it difficult to find exact specs and equipment for Toyotas in the UK. Your websites aren’t as detailed as those in Canada or the US.

Funny you say that about the graphics. It’s the only 1920x1080 HD screen that I know of in a car. (All screens in the 6-8” range are WVGA [640x480] and some are 1280x720 HD but I’m unaware of any that are full HD).

I found exactly the same thing about there being no updated brochure. I’ve used the website spec configurator and a few press releases/reviews. I had trialled last year’s Prius for a few days in March. It looks like they have solved some of my minor gripes (heater switch locations and touch screen side button). I had my company car Prius confirmed as ordered at the end of April. So far I’ve got a date as first week in September for delivery. Looks like there will be a shipment coming in from Japan :) it will be my first Prius, looking forward to it.

Agree with the lack of brochure. I bought mine a couple of months ago (due to arrive late June), and it took an awful lot of frustrating research to make sure I was getting the right thing.

For example, it wasn't at all clear whether the Business Edition + comes with the basic or the premium sound system (it's the premium one). The touchscreen in all UK editions is definitely 7" though!

The US also have a brochure (attached), although of course all the specs are different.

There doesn’t seem to be much different in the recent model update between business edition plus and excel. The only difference seemed to be leather seats. I seem to remember the previous business edition plus didn’t get the upgrade sound system but it does now.

Thanks that’s really helpful. I was hoping there would be a mention of apple CarPlay in there as there are press releases in the US at the start of May saying it’s being added during the model update of the Prius plug in. As it’s likely to be a similar entertainment system in both the Prius and Prius plug in models a little bit of me was hoping it would be added in the UK to both mid cycle model update (though there has been no word that it will be added to the UK Prius plug in model).
