Hi Hotel. For the 2014 Prius c, i believe the VVTI filter is right under the VVTI...front left of engine (facing it) just behind the air filter box. You can do a search in priuschat for VVTI filter change and there are pictures that several members posted. For ur car, maybe u would need to remove those parts u mentioned to get to ur vvti filter, idk, can't recall what car u have.

If you have to do all that forget it! Toyota Synthetic would not leave carbon and even less so since I use Redline Oil. If it's not easy to change it was not meant to be replaced on regular intervals.

    That’s what I’m thinking as well. I have a 2010 Gen 3.

Yeah...I feel the same way Pilot...but for my 2014 Prius c I believe it's right in the front, easy access, just under the VVTI that I swapped out for the Red Bullet. I'm going to try and do an oil change on Sat (6/1) then swap out the vvt filter after. I read that it's good to do it maybe every 100,000 and some claim that installing a new one had positive impact on mpg. I just don't know how much torque to use when putting the bolt back in. At this point, i'm going to do 1 or 2 grunts tight only. I'll let yas know how it goes.
PS...we have the same blue streak ride...looks great. I see you have the fogs installed...wish I had them. I'm toying with the idea of purchasing them since they are cheap, but installing looks a bit tedious. The clear wrap on the front is a great idea you had. I'm constantly using touch up paint on the chips. o_O

    Update on the ECO mode.

My average was up to about 30+km/l for the 1st 150 on ECO mode.
    20190526_224311.jpg
Then with a lot of short trips and steep gradient climb out of my lab underground car park and going up the hill home everyday brought my average to 28km/l very quicky!

If I didn't have to go up these two major slow climb everyday then I think the 30km/l could be sustained. The economy really suffers when power is in demand while in ECO mode.
If I operate the vehicle within the ECO parameters, its showing a improvement in economy. I think this resembles my theory about the system limiting the use of the Red Bullet when one is in ECO mode.
ECO makes it impossible to access the efficacy which the Red Bullet can produce on the high end.
I will keep going until I hit bingo on fuel like the 901km challenge and gas up to see what can be drawn from the results.
Right now the statistics are still unstable. I am also observing a miss correlation between the distance traveled and fuel gauge. The fuel is falling quicker then in normal mode despite the computer saying we are doing a healthy 27-28km/l.

Going to be out of commission for a few days. You guys remember the slope I have to climb home daily?
Well a guy slid backwards and used me as a stop bumper. 20190603_210330.jpg its going to the shop tomorrow for a new bumper.
I hope the transmission is ok... car was parked in P and hand brake applied. I'll know tomorrow when I head towards Toyota if anything feels off.
Police came and took insurance, the guy was a resident of the community so he left details on the dash for insurance claims.
But yeah the ECO test will have to be suspended for now, when car goes in the shop... your economy will flat out. They keep the car running most of the time there going from station to station.

Again great mileage with the red bullet. Definitely the best I've had with these tires. MPG is as good as it was with my previous Continental Extreme Contact Sport, and much better than the prior 42-44 mpg with these wheels. This trip was highway with a good mix of traffic lights.

Again keep in mind this is low MPG due to my 18 inch wheels and grippy tires, but I'm still happy with it.

    Gotta say I'm impressed. IMG_20190601_182255072_HDR.jpg

I am very happy that you are having great results with the Red Bullet!
I think the simplicity of it as a plug and play upgrade on the engine which one can easily take on is the beauty of it.
Easy and attainable performance with a 10mm hex wrench!

Ahhh bummer Max! Sorry to hear that some dude gave ur ride a bloody nose. At least he left contact info on ur windshield. Dont worry about the ECO test...whats more important is getting ur ride fixed right and no other mechanical issues as a result. Keep us posted.

Guys, the Red Bullet showed up today, and I installed it! Huge thanks to @Max Taiwan for making buying and shipping experiences easy! The directions were fantastic, and I ran into no problems except for accessing and disconnecting the initial plug and the socket because of my Injen Technology air intake was in the way. Acceleration feels more responsive and slightly more powerful. Fuel economy has increased a little too, even though I really played with the pedal to look for any differences in performance. I cannot wait to drive my car more with the Red Bullet! I am thinking that this was a great buy! Will update later.

Dude, it's a Keeper!! Immediate and more efficient mechanical throttle! I got over 76 mpg during one trip today! Got over 64 mpg on the way home too, versus the typical 40+ mpg! Gotta try it more, but it feels good so far! I think it pairs excellently with the Injen air intake! The Prius C not only breathes much better now, but also snaps into action faster too!

WoW an average of 70mpg right out the gate?
I think we will keep the ECO off for good.

We are really happy for you! The efficiency I think will benefit you in everyway possible!
Remember not to be too paddle happy!
    The power is very tempting!

Try going uphill too and also the highway merge!
Hope you also get a big smile on your face doing that!

    Great results!
    Have fun!

I'll get my ride back on Friday. All is dealt with the insurance. All good. Just waiting for diagnosis and a new bumper. Nice the guy left his number. Made it all ok, we all make mistakes, he was very responsible!

As a firearms enthusiast and shooting sports athlete, I just gotta say how big of a fan I am of the solenoid's round-caselike design at the base. With the primer and all, it just cracks me up whenever I see it; yes, I've popped open the hood multiple times to check on the little guy - but it was to look for any possible leaks/etc.! The Red Bullet is doing a great job and has made driving the Prius C a bit less stressful in fast traffic; man, I sound like a broken record! haha
