Where in the great state of Virginia will you be coming from and where are you moving to?

The wife and I lived in the greater Richmond area for 6 years.

Now we’re in Fairfield and couldn’t be happier.

Sounds like this meet up will occur before your move out, but once you are out here, hit us up and we’ll set something up. Always nice to meet other members.

I’m coming from Richmond (Midlothian) and will be working at Herlong so I’m hearing most people live in Reno. I’ll have to see for myself when I get there. Will be taking this car on a 3,000 mile test run, hopefully all goes well!

 

I was in Chester but had a lot of coworkers that lived in Midlothian.

Reno is a bit of a drive from where we are, but @Marine Ray is in Sparks and closer.

He even had a spare set of stock wheel covers for a 2010-2011 if I remember correctly. Unless he got rid of them when he upgraded to his Prime .

But good luck with the move and road trip .

 

I’m familiar with Chester, I worked at the Defense Supply Center off of Jefferson Davis Highway and I got off at the Chester exit from 288. Thanks I look forward to meeting you in the future.

Does that mean i won't be able to change out my wheel bearing as well as my shocks/struts?

What about a serpentine belt change?

No suicide sticks no problem. We will work it out right especially looking forward sitting in a Prime to the shop.

in my experience newer cars (post-2000s) have pretty slack springs and/or high-pressure shocks that dont cause much drama when taking off the top mounts. but ymmv... and probably better safe than sorry.

not sure what the regular prius strut mounts look like but some cars you can take apart the spring from the top mounts with the struts bolted on the car, a-arm supported by a jack, then lower the jack until the spring/strut separate. voila.

The Prime may not be operational - we may be polishing and coating the car during the meet. So you may have to use your suicide sticks. Ray and I are still finalizing the details.

We can tackle the other jobs.

What we could maybe do (if @The Critic will support) is make a run to his shop with all of the parts, do those and bring them back.

That’d be the safest way and something we could probably work out.
