Upgrade the USB ports so they put out 2.5 amps and can charge a larger phone or tablet. They are woefully underpowered as is.

    In addition to post #1:

    Mechanical/Electrical:

    Two charging ports:
    1) Standard J1772
    2) Tesla

    Performance:

    1) Maxwell Super Capacitors (or similar) added to the battery for greatly increased acceleration. Super capacitors can charge up & discharge extremely fast making them great for this application.

Toyota Engineers: Wire them in so they only work "near" WOT, this way the chassis will accelerate like a bat out of hell when needed.

    Exterior:

    1) A 17" wheel & tire option that includes some suspension upgrades.

Now we’re up to $50K. If you think sales are bad at today’s prices, wait until these fly out the door.

I guess all the complaints about 4 seats weren't technically asking for 5.

Forget camping. People want a factory option for providing emergency power. while it is a system that likely won't sell in the US, Toyota has had such an option in Japan going back to the PiP.

Probably less than a typical 20A breaker would allow at 120V. Say less than 1800W? Like maybe closer to 1kW or 1.2kW.

There may be a very small niche market for this option, but if were offered as an option they might move a few. It shouldn't be a standard feature on the car though.

Japanse Prius PHV (aka PRIME in the US) already comes with AC 100V 1500W inverter on board. A full tank plus full charge PRIME (Prius PHV in Japan) car supply 4 days worth of electricity for average Japanese household during an emergency and natural disaster.

Following site is in Japanse, I couldn't fine Eglish version now, but you get an idea.
トヨタ プリウスPHV | キャンペーン | 電源供給サイト | トヨタ自動車WEBサイト

Edit: Here is the best English site I could find. To Carry You in Our Hearts: Disaster-Ready Vehicle Technologies | Toyota Motor Corporation Official Global Website Although the article is more about Mirai FCV used as an emergency power source and the pic of Prius PHV is the previous version Pip.

Agreed not a standard feature. Put it in a nice carrying case and they may have a hit on their hands. But now that I think about it, 1 kW would probably be the most since the “typical” breaker is usually 15A. I believe the one for the Japanese market is limited to 1 kW.

Actually, sales are remarkably good for the past several months.... among EVs, second only to Tesla Model 3. But Tesla has a unique cachet among the general public. Most people -- even among those who have visited Toyota dealerships -- the Prime is virtually unknown.

Stealth marketing is definitely not an added feature.

There are well over 60 items and growing, "IF" Toyota implemented just 15 to 25% of what they thought were important, that would be a great thing.

To run the fridge and a few other essentials during an extended power outage. Several threads about wiring in an inverter here.

My Matrix had a 110V outlet.

In addition to the above dohickty available for the Prime, it is possible to have any plug in power a home during emergencies in Japan. I think Nissan may have developed the power station that works as a two way charger for the car. The Mirai can supply power through it too, and it was going to be available to the Mirai in the US. The stations are expensive, and the car needs a CHAdeMO receptacle.

Our Pathfinder hybrid also has a 120V outlet, not exactly sure how much kW it can handle. And with full gas, how long it would run. Humm, I should look that up.

It was meant for electronics, but no ground ground meant I couldn't plug our current laptop into it.

Couldn't you just use 3-prong to 2-prong adaptor?

I have the Advanced app on both my wife's iPhone and my Android phone, and at least the charge management and location functions seem to work fine on both. They are logged in to the same e-mail account, but that doesn't seem to effect how the apps work.

Guess I could, but no longer have the car, and didn't have the laptop at the time.
Also, our electric supply is quite stable. Across the street, not so much.

I checked the manual on our Pathfinder Hybrid. The max on 120V outlet is only 150W. And it cautions not to use more than one device at a time to prevent discharging the 12V battery. In fact it even cautions to avoid using power outlets when the air conditioner, headlights or rear window defroster is on. Well, it is another useless option that came with this loaded SUV. :(
