    Hello!

2nd post here. M'folks drive a 2010. I've test driven Gen 1s, but pretty sure i'm set on a 2010 or newer. Bluetooth would also be great. I don't have to have navigation, but a system that recognized my phone as soon as i turn it on would be great. Definitely no C's, and i prefer not a v i think (but sell me into it!).

I'm in Cali and can travel to go get it (especially near airports if you're far). I've been shopping around the Bay Area, and the private parties selling their cars sell them in hours. I've seen a couple at used dealers, but the markup + lack of trust is difficult.

Preferably, i'd like to send a mobile mechanic to a location agreed on the seller for a pre-purchase inspection before i head out there to pick it up (if you're far).

Let me know if you have questions or if there's something else i should've mentioned.

Would you pay more for a 2010 package V with all the bells and whistles including technology package and a brand new Toyota hybrid battery (pending). The car is not being driven right now and just parked.....It has 119k miles

Actually I haven't decided how much this car is worth, it's always worth more when you're selling it. I'm in the Los Angeles area.

I'll see if I can get some pictures soon (I'm usually very bad at doing this btw)

It's package V, not lower case v, right?

Also, do you know the actual MPG right now? (I know you said that it's been parked for a while...)

Thanks! Any way to spot these issues when shopping?

This is a package V (five) regular Prius. The car has standard 17 inch wheels, which lowers the mpg slightly compared to a standard 15 inch wheel. As of early June the car was averaging 42 city and around 46 hwy. With a new hybrid battery, you should see that number jump up a bit.

I'm actually not sure I can sell this yet, as my nephew is moving up to San Bruno for his new job. If he can find a place in San Bruno near his work, he won't need a car. If he can't, he'll have to commute from another location near by San Bruno, and then he'll need this car.

Congrats to your son! My partner just got a job in SB too.

Do you know by when he'll know whether he needs the car?

Does your partner need a roommate? He's starting his job at Walmart headquarters in July. So he needs to find a place by then. He currently still has his place in Berkeley but doesn't want to live so far away.

I see. She does not. I'll ask around though. Good luck!

We're trying to buy the car before she starts (mid-July). Keep me posted ;)

Yes please ask around. If anybody in San Bruno has a room for rent (that's all he needs right now). Thanks

    Just be aware that isn’t a V or 5 model ;).

It’s a III or 3. You can tell by the JBL stereo and cloth seats:cool:.

So I’d try and work him down a bit more. As an aside, I sold our 200k miles 2010 II for $4500. To me miles after 100k are all about the same. I would have driven our 2010 longer, but I had competing factors telling me to sell (help someone out and the Prime itch):).

If you haven’t talked to @The Critic yet, his 2011 would meet what you are looking for nicely and you’ll have piece of mind on the maintenance being done right. That is if he wants to part with it and get the RAV4 he’s been eyeing:whistle:.

Good luck and keep us posted (y).

Thanks for this! You think "damage" is okay to buy with?

I have not yet heard from @The Critic. But i hope to soon. :D Those Rav4s sure are purty!

I am considering a sale but I am also semi-actively looking for a house right now. So, I may have to hang onto the car for a little while longer.

I did just do an oil analysis at my last oil change and the engine appears healthy: https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/5146372/2011-prius-idemitsu-zepro-adv-moly-0w-20-3-210-miles

Also, mine has had both bumpers replaced and the spoiler is currently at the shop getting painted (due to clearcoat failure). So, I am not sure if those items make the car significantly less desirable.

JC91006's car is probably a better buy once a new battery is installed.
