turn off automatic locking

    Our 2011 prius 3 has doors that automatically lock when placed into gear. I imagine all the cars do when they leave the factory. I want to turn off that feature. Can't find any advice on this in the manuals, or on this site. anyone know how to turn it off?

    That is for mid-cycle-refreshed Gen3, 2012-2015. It won't work on his first-version-Gen3 from 2011.

    That did not work for me. As your manual says, your dealer can turn off the automatic locking (for $$).

    All I can say is it worked for me when I had my 2010 IV...

    Certain trim packages will have it configurable through the LCD infotainment thing.

    Otherwise you'll need techstream to re-configure, or some app that starts with a C that's not even worth buying because at it's set price you might as well get techstream.

    No LCD or Techstream was required. I just followed the directions in the manual.

    The infotainment in the 2010 and 2011 models is sandboxed so no vehicle settings are available for those years. Unless you read the manual or have Techstream, no other interface is available to change lock settings.
