hey all, had it two days and love the car. downloaded Entune to get the navigation map, but that did not work. I'm in ontario canada, orangeville area. nonetheless I uninstalled Entune from my phone but now the radio does not work because of NPR One and doesn'tlet the radio work. put it back to default but NPR One keeps popping up. how do i get it off or get back to factory settings. radio worked an hour ago just fine btw.

Got it. delete Entune from your phone then delete 'personal data' from prius set up screen (need to scroll down). then add phone back to car bluetooth.

Congrats on the new ride!! And welcome. I’ve read several comments from Canadian members that Entune is not available in Canada. Don’t worry. You’re not missing anything. Unless you have the top of the line Prime (is it the Limited?), Entune is a total waste of storage space on your device.

    Congrats!
@Tideland Prius do you have anything to add from the Canadian side of things?

Entune isn't available on the Prime. (Entune 3.0 is available in Canada on select vehicles such as the Camry, Sienna, RAV4 and Corolla [all models])

Looks like you got it solved.

@D.A.L, congrats on the new car! You are not too far from me. :)

@Tideland Prius, Entune has never been available on Canadian Prius vehicle before, but I heard it was finally added for 2020. I checked Toyota website and it confirms that, but it also says “only base model” for the Prime. (?). I don’t understand why this would be, what would the Upgrade/Tech model have instead...??

    Oh right. That weird thing.

Entune is needed because the base model comes with ScoutGPS instead of integrated nav. I think it also means it has Safety Connect.

The Upgrade and Tech will continue to have the integrated nav. But no Entune.

So, with the Canadian 2020 Prime, is there an app that can be used with the car to check charge status, scheduling, etc and is that connected with Entune? I heard the 2020 no longer has the remote climate control from the app, only the fob, is this accurate?

I know my (loaded) PiP doesn’t have any remote accessibility since it is a Canadian model, despite those features being available on the US Advanced model... which has always been a bummer.

I agree. The competition has remote features but the Prime doesn’t and it’s annoying.

I don’t know if it can check the charge status or if it’s simply a stripped down version with just the apps on the headunit.

In the US, Prime Apps are only available on the top Advanced model, right? So only the Advanced gets remote climate, remote charge management and charging status (along with the trophy system).

Based on what we’ve read here, it appears that the Prime Apps aren’t available on the 2020 Prime yet.

I've ordered a base 2020 Prime. I'd be curious to see if it does have entune built-in or not. Dealer said that it does have Apple Carplay and Navigation built in.

My understanding is that all 2020 Primes have CarPlay support. The website indicates that only the base model has Entune, and as Tideland explained above it seems that is for the Scout Navigation, which I believe is a simpler navigation than the “Premium” navigation offered on the higher trims in earlier years. I also believe this means each Prius you have the option of using the Scout/built-in Nav, or CarPlay and your Nav from your iPhone. At least that is my understanding, but I am sure some 2020 owners around here can confirm. :)

Note that the base navigation is ScoutGPS - app based. The "embedded navigation" (i.e. what you'd imagine a built-in nav is), is only on the Upgrade and Upgrade w/ Tech package.

In any case, congrats! Hope it arrives soon. Enjoy the summer range before winter kicks in lol. Note that the heater is good to about -10°C - after that, the engine will come on to heat the cabin. However, it's still a Prius and it's really efficient (in my Gen 3 with EBH use and blocking the lower grill, I can limit the winter hit to about 5.5L/100km except that one time it went down to -35 to -40, then it went up to 6 or 7L/100km for that tank. The Prime should fair a bit better since it is more efficient and it has active grille shutters built in.

Thank you! In Edmonton, it's below -10 degrees Celsius around 30 days of the year. I'll keep track of my mileage and will report back. The vehicle comes in 2 weeks and I'm looking forward to it.

    Where do you live?

Thanks guys. Not a tech guy, so I'll stick with my garmin nav system. No need for Entune. Nonetheless, I'm getting 2.7ltr per 100kms (829 kms) since I left the dealership with a full battery. Most of my 208 km round trips average 1.7 ltr per 100kms (full charge when left, charged at destination, then back). Still have a bit more than half a tank of gas after 829 kms. This car has surpassed all my expectations.

Keep it up! I’ve gone 67 days without using a drop of fuel and just used it on a road trip (which netted 3.5L/100km over 1,300km and only 3 full charges)

Cool! BTW, I am a tech guy and also have no use for Entune. Garmin is a far better and less expensive (as in free maps for life) GPS, although I sometimes play with the built in one around town.

    Good day!
I am so glad to find this forum! I am coming from a 2004 LEXUS LX470 to my new 2020 Prius Prime, I love it. I don’t even want to drive the LX anymore, I feel too bad to waste the fuel that beast uses (13 mpg) average. When I bought the LX new, it was pretty advanced, like a toy compared to the Prime!
I was wondering if any veteran owners or tech savvy could verify for me the lack of Remote Connect on the 2020? I wrote my salesman (that told me it did have Remote) and he wrote back that the 2020 Prime does not have Remote Connect. His response “The Prius Prime's do not have remote connect because they have the A/C button on the key fob (The main reason that people want remote start). This is a good thing because you do not have to worry about paying for remote connect when the trial ends. Since it is a Hybrid it will use the battery to crank up the a/c or heat for you to go ahead and get the car ot the temperature that you are wanting. The 2018 and 2019's Prius Prime's had the exact same thing, atleast in our region they did. Feel free to ask any questions about the Prime at any point and I will be glad to answer them for you.”
That’s fine, but I’d rather pay 10 month and be able to warm or cool the car from my office or inside my house,(if out of fob range) and also get some kind of confirmation.
Also it looks like with the Remote Connect you could see the status of your charge etc from the app. My main reason for the rambling post, is to verify I’m not missing anything. So far I have downloaded 3 apps Entune 3.0, Safety Connect, and Remote Connect. Remote connect says Vin is invalid. If in fact it does not have the Remote Connect, is the car equipped with cellular, etc to maybe in the future gain that ability?
Thanks for any input. I guess I’m hoping they can enable those functions later.
