    Hey all,

I have a 2006 Prius with about 225k miles on it. I'm not the first owner, and I'm not sure the HV battery has ever been replaced, but at this many miles, I'm sure it has.

The car was running fine, the charge indicator showed that the battery would charge all the way up, and my gas mileage was about 38 mpg (down from about 42, but hey, it's old). Two weeks ago, lightning struck very close to the Prius (within 20-30 feet). I'm not sure the lightning caused any damage. The next day, I go to drive it, and it's running on the electric motors only, the ICE will not start. I get it towed to a shop, and get the following error codes:

    U0100
P3000 (the mechanic didn't tell me the suffix)

    Any advice?

DTC P3000 is logged by the hybrid vehicle ECU and reports the high voltage battery ECU reported a problem. You need to know what DTC was logged by the HV battery ECU.

DTC U0100 is logged by the hybrid vehicle ECU and reports lost communications with the engine ECU.

Maybe the lightning strike induced high voltage into the Prius wiring harness which has caused damage to one or more ECUs. This does not sound like a problem that will be easy to fix since the communications failure probably is suppressing other DTC which would give you visibility into the root issues.
