Late-2016 Gen 4 Prius Business Edition+, in UK. Whilst I like have speed limit signs displayed on the main dash and the HUD, the accompanying female voice that telss me "You are over the speed limit", each and every time I broach the limit by a few MPH, is starting to annoy me. Can it be disabled, and if so, how?

I somehow don’t have that, which I’m glad I don’t. Is this a UK specific?

No idea. Can't find it listed anywhere. Car is a Japan build, right-hand drive, so probably much the same as a Japanese home market set-up, but with English language stuff....although it seems that can be changed and the displays can be changed between MPH/Miles and KPH/Kilometres very simply...something I did appreciate during recent trips to Ireland, which is all metric. I guess this might not be a big selling point in Colorado, though. ;)

When the warning comes up, it always seem to be a couple of notches higher than the volume on any audio you have running. It really is a first-world irritation.

Next time I'm passing my local Toyota dealer, I'll pop in for a free wash and valet...for the car, not me and ask the question. The free wash & valet is attached to the purchase of any Toyota from my dealer and includes any car in my family. Pop in anytime, have a good coffee, get the car cleaned and checked, all FOC. Quite remarkable service, for over here. Have a good day.

In the navigation system, go to SETUP > Map > Speed limits, and deselect the Audible warning checkbox or increase the threshold. See the Navigation and Multimedia System Owner’s Manual, page 184.

For readers with later models, the setting moved to SETUP > Navigation > Map > Speed limits.
I believe it’s a feature of the European version of the navigation system.

There's a female voice that tells me when I'm going over the speed limit, too, but it's not coming from the car ...
