Showing there are 3 abs pumps:
    44500-47090
    44500-47140
    44510-47050

Dealership said mine is the 47140 and there are 0 in the country. There are hundreds that end in 47090 or 47050. Can I use one of those? Highly doubt for the year 2007 there are 3 totally different designs that are all incompatible with each other.

After spending an hour at least I looked up 47090 on car-part (mine is 47140).

And many say "check ID". Called on a 2009 they gave me VIN and dealership said it is 47141 so I am 99.9% that is the upgraded version of 47140....They are gonna look at it and let me know if it looks ok. Pretty good hit in front and mileage is unknown as well. But interior looks like it has low miles. $175 shipped

I'm just guessing that 47141 (an ID not listed on car-part) is the updated 47140? Or is it updated for all? Anyone know?

    If I select 2009 Prius on car-part is still only gives the 3 options (47090, 47050, 47140)

Severe hit in front and they called and said part no good.

I called another shop that has a 2009 they are listing them as "check ID" and when I called the dealership they said part ended in 141 so that was a match...They wanted $275 shipped but didn't send me a credit authorization form yet.

So then I called a local shop that has a 2007 with about 190k and it is $200 with part ending in 140.

I went with the 2007 with 190k although probably should have went with the 2009....

I replaced the actuator for our 2008 Prius. Not wanting to play around with this multiple times and since it was a component on the brake system I bought a new unit form Toyota.
    Here is the invoice

    Order Content
    Part Number

    44500-47141

    Actuator Assembly

    $1,134.95

    1

    $1,134.95

    Subtotal:

    $1,134.95

This is the part number for the upgraded actuator which will not have the same problems as the one you are replacing!
My experience- bought a used unit on ebay and sent it back as soon as I opened the box and saw the shape the unit was in got a full refund and went with the brand new Toyota OEM improved unit.

If you are fixing this car to flip you are probably going to go the cheapest route.

Keeping but I'm too cheap to spend $1100 when it is $200 used. It is a very rare issue imo/experience so I'll take the risk with a used part.

Have bought/sold at least 50 and only 3 have had actuator problems

Wasn’t there someone around here that switched numbers and had no problems? What you really want to find is the updated unit from a junkyard.

I did for $275 w/ 150k on it out of a 2009...but they were too slow to send credit authorization form. And I'm too dvmb/cheap to have spent the $75 premium for the better quality part.

So I have purchased one listed as miles unknown at local junkyard for $200...Carfax shows approximately 180-190k miles out of a 2007.

Really don't want to do it twice but spent a lot of time searching for the part I needed and was tired of looking for a match.

I recently did an actuator on a different car and was unaware that there were 3 part numbers (4 if you include the updated version). And I bought the first one I seen online at random and it worked. So maybe I got lucky and got the correct version by chance....I really don't know.

Thought I would leave this here for others who stumble across this thread :

If you go looking for a used ABS actuator assembly, here are the updated replacement part numbers:

    2004-05 - 04003-44347
    2006-09 - 04003-44647

And a round of thanks to @ITBland for posting this in another thread (y)
