With the alleged full tank from the dealer, and my two fill ups, the spreadsheet shows my average mileage as 3.95L/100kms, or 59.55us mpg. The dash shows 4.0/100 overall, so maybe it's accurate(?)

    That's pretty accurate. Surprising.

For me (in a 3rd gen), if the dash says 4.6 (liters per 100 km), calculated is 4.9~5.0.

Last night I had my first opportunity to try my AWD-e out on some snow! Well, sort of... we got several inches in Boulder, but only a half-inch or so (maybe an inch in places?) stuck to the roads. I went out at 11 pm to grab this opportunity (might be my last chance until November). I stopped cold on a few mild slopes and did my best to take off suddenly. The four wheels were all working - I could certainly see this on the display, and it "felt" like stuff was happening at all four wheels (I have to admit though that I have no other experience with AWD/4WD). I also saw the "traction control" light flicker a few times, but there wasn't any noticeable slippage. In truth, my old 2WD Matrix would have been fine on this little snow, but it was just fun to try.

I also went both forward and backward up the driveway, watching the 4 wheels working on the display, and it seemed pretty grippy. THIS was more of a real test (although again, not much snow so hard to say) because my 2WD Matrix always had trouble on the snowy driveway and I often used to have to wait for the garage door to open fully, then give myself a head start in order to make it up.

The surprising part...After all this goofing around for 2.6 miles, the display showed only 29.8 mpg, but said "good Eco driving"!

I always have 'snowflake on mountain' snow tires on separate rims for my vehicles.

Sorry, that was not something I was looking for! I did not see any on the models that I test drove. Another thing to keep in mind - most models don't have a spare tire either. If I recall, the only one with a spare is the the LE non-AWD.

FWIW, in Canada for 2019, there's four levels, and only the flagged one, the base level, has a spare.

    1. PRIUS<has spare
    2. TECHNOLOGY
    3. AWD-e
    4. TECHNOLOGY AWD-e

    Catchy names eh...

Also, local dealerships, for a month or so, never show a #1 in inventory. It's typically 3 or 4 of the others, and a glut of Primes.

No, my phone has navigation: I wanted cloth seats, and the awd LE has everything I need.

A absolutely love it! I recommend the awd-e highly: it's the best car I've ever owned, and I've owned too many.

The only 2019 Prius that has navigation is the Limited. It is not available (even as an option) on the other models.

Good to know, it's the same story up here: if you want a spare tire, 3-door touch to unlock, navigation, and aren't a fan of sunroofs: you can go whistle.

    Dave,

I picked up my new 2019 AWD-e Saturday, trading 2006 Prius with (only) 130k miles, still running great. I have 400' 15 degree driveway that has been a challenge to get up in more than a few inches of snow, so for years I have said when Prius AWD comes, I will move up. It did, I did, and now I'm debating some add-ons. I didn't take any day of sale, but I'm wondering if 10-year 100k mile extended warranty for $4k is worth it, also the various protection options.

    Opinions?
