Just finished 3 week road trip. 7,302 miles, 54.6 mpg. No battery charger after start. 90% interstate, extreme traffic, most of the time 80-85 mph. Daytime temperatures 85-100. At least 1,000 lbs load in the car. Stops: sometimes more than once: SC, NC, IL, MN, WI, MI, PA, NY, MA, NH,RI, DC, VA, GA.

Quality of gas does make a difference. Even in my 635HP MBZ, or any car I have owned - regular gas all the time.

All and all, this 3rd PRIUS is an interesting, well detailed car with very nice interior.

Obviously there have been MANY posts about the odd design and use of interior space issues, and on and on. Not much to add to that list. But feel compelled to yell about no CarPlay.

For a spare, I bought a Toyota new wheel the same as came with Prime. New Michelin tire place behind passenger seat. New heavy duty power electric car jack, strong electric power device to remove lug bolts and strong power a electric air pump. And a 100 piece pretty comprehensive tool kit. No incidents but actually absurd in re design lack of spare issue.

My trip was more enjoyable with the an imported from Japan by-pass added to allow use of the navigation and other limited and music blocked by car motion. Had done the same on earlier 2007 and 2010 Prius.

One real irritation is the AC needing constant changes back to my settings. No way around most of that. For what it is worth, the temperature meets the settings but the air does not feel fully air conditioned. Odd and not nice. Can not clearly define the feel of AC - perhaps humidity issues.

    Questions?

Based on your speed, your reported 54.6 MPG's is excellent !

Were you using Auto fan speed? That seems to vary the fan speed depending on how much sun the sun sensor sees. Were you using Eco mode for the AC? That might make it feel different from a "normal" car.

After much experimenting I simply adjusted the temp and fan speed manually. My impression of the air conditioning my not be shared by anyone but it felt “unusual” to me. After dozens of cars, this one is the first that the air felt peculiar- probably just me.

I have done the same. AUTO tends to do odd things like blow all the air out the dash vents, go to recirc all the time, blast the fan, etc.

I've noticed that the fan speed sometimes seems to change in auto mode, even though the display is showing the same speed.

Can you please elaborate on "an imported from Japan by-pass added to allow use of the navigation and other limited and music blocked by car motion" ?
    Thanks,
