GENII aftermarket fog light kits that actually fit

    Since I got my gen2 (1yr 7mo's ago) the foglights have been cracked, and I have been meaning to replace them. Now that I have BOTH light bulbs replaced, the next step is getting the fogs resolved.

    I'm not looking for massive light output or funny colors. I simply want to get fog lights (driving lights) that look OEM and work. I've noticed the OEM for lights go for a good but of $$, and I'm sure they are great quality, but I'm looking for a lower cost alternative.

    I've purchased 3 different sets on ebay at various price ranges (and also returned every one of them) and they all seem to be the same: the adjustment screws are too long, and the way the bulb base ring is installed on the back side of the fog light makes it twist in such a manner that it just doesn't fit.

    Can anyone here provide a viable solution without going OEM (for the sake of not spending a lot of $$)?

    You might've posted this in the wrong sub forum.

    Never used the fog lights before, and from what I've read their usefulness in the stock implementation is lacking at best.

    If real illumination is desired, you might be better served by adding one of those LED light bars in or under the grill area.

    Do a search in the above sub, as I've seen a couple of retrofits that appear to be quite effective.

    Don't limit yourself to gen2, also check the gen3/4 subs for additional options.

    First you have to have fog, for them to be useful.

    Ever been to San Francisco :whistle:?

    One of the foggiest places I’ve been;).

    The flight delays due to the fog / marine layer also show how bad it is:cool:.

    The Prius fog lights on all models leave something to be desired :oops:.

    I have, but the weather has been great every time I've been there. But now that you mention it, I've seen pictures, videos and have read it in the news of fog in the area.

    The most worthless fog lights on any car I have ever owned. They are just too low to do much. Perhaps if the fog was so thick you have to drive 5 miles per hour?
