Geez I'm jealous. Just you in the car, back seat, spare, and whatever's not welded pulled out, lol?

I had a fresh read through your quotes-of-shame btw: some good new ones I think. (y) Still, I think there should be a CARB approved Oil Catch Can, what a situation currently: penalized for trying to run cleaner.

This was yesterday, just a bit into a new tank, and I was really thinking "take a picture, cus it won't last long":

(That translates to 65 mpg (US), and calculated would likely be around 60.)

After this my wife took it out, went noodling around with her girlfriend, to lunch, Costco, multiple points in-between. I'm sure it's bumped up a bit now (lower is better with liter/100km).

And today we're picking up the grandkids from their schools, which some brain-dead city planner plunked at the highest point in Port Moody.:cry::cry:

(160 meter climb over 2.3 km)

So we'll be doing the climb this aft, and get to repeat the excercise tomorrow. At the end of that I'll post an update, wouldn't doubt it'll be 4.5~4.9 liters per 100 km by then.

If you're going that far, you can reduce your Cd by 0.01 by removing side mirrors. You can probably get some improvements putting a flat plate under the car too and wheel skirts

Great results! Is that atypical results or typical MPGs? How did the repeat exercise go?

Actually I compete in music competitions so my once a month drives are fairly far & this vehicle goes great with my 100 mi a day work commute so I do need a FE car. No one else gets in the car with me so I went a bit weight load reduction crazy but I am no fool to take out the spare tire and its tools for it  I've had flats before so those stay put :D The best part about taking the back seats out plus just about everything in the back is that the HV battery cools down to the ambient cabin temp faster when not running AC. It's like pulling a blanket off of you as your in bed.

The amount you owe receiving a ticket for not having side view mirrors will negate the cost savings of gas saved from removing the mirrors by ten folds

Already have wheel skirts, next mods will be side splitters and rear diffuser. Once it rains, I'll have to put the wipers back on (n)

Got back from the school run this aft, and it's back to 4.6~4.7 displayed, about par. :(
