    team,

My prius Gen3 2011 has done 300,000 kms. Runs good. Will just the oil change, air filter and keeping the fluids topped up is good enough or does it need any special attention? I dont have the service Manual.

    Here's the NZ schedule.
    https://www.toyota.co.nz/globalassets/servicing/toyota-petrol-hybrid-service-schedule-2019.pdf

After 195,000km, you start again from the top. (So you'd be at the "year 7/105,000" row. Your next service is the next row - 8/120,000 or in 15,000km - O&F as well as replace brake fluid.

The coolant should've been just replaced at 300,000km (Coolant is every 75,000km after the first D at 150,000km). It doesn't specify so I'd change both engine and inverter coolant at the same time.

300K kms is about 186K miles, it sounds like the EGR has never been serviced/cleaned and the car still runs great.

Would really like love to know what exact conditions make it so some 3rd gens blow head-gaskets and some don't due to the EGR clogging.

Gut instinct tells me it's a combo of the type of oil used and driving habits, making some cars burn more oil than others, and the EGR failing stemming from carbonized oil particles clogging up the system. Thoughts here anyone?

My car only uses about 1/2 a quart every 4-5K miles, 65,xxx on the odometer.

    I agree.
Mine is consuming less than half that much, I think, at 102k. Wondering whether it will suddenly get much worse keeps me in suspense.

Really should have said 'oil change intervals', oil brand doesn't matter a whole lot these days and it's probably safe to assume everyone is using a API rated 0w-20 or 5w-30 synthetic.

Unless the jiffy lube or Walmart car oil technician grabs the conventional oil hose dispenser and dumps it in your crankcase, then put a checkmark next to synthetic oil 0w-20 change.

    SpEaking from others experience.

Fair enough comment, especially considering how shady the 10min change places can be. Didn't consider that.
