Hey guys. I am In the weeds here. Just performed a front and rear brake replacement on a 05 Prius and silly me thought it was just a simple replacement.

Now the ABS light, the VSC light and the e-brake light are on, and brakes are at like 75%.

What did I do wrong and how can I fix it.

Have you tried pulling the 12 volt battery lead for resetting the codes?

Did anything occur during the work?

Normal replacement, but only after did I read I had to pull the ABS relay.

The brake function really worries me.

Did you do rear brakes or front? Why would it be at 75% if you changed them?

Front and rear. And hoses so I had To bleed. And by 75% I mean performance, before I had solid brakes. Now they are barely functioning.

And the e brake, abs and Vsc light are on

Oh you bled, that's the problem. The car requires techstream software to bleed, electronic brake actuator

No idea. Bought the car four months ago and no brake problems previously. I changed the front disks and pads last night and did the rears today. Bled the system and it just popped up.

If I disconnect the battery, what am I facing there?

    Find someone who does;).

In SoCal that isn’t so tough:).

But if you pull the 12 volt, it resets the computers, so it’s a chance to start fresh(y).

I have heard that pulling the battery requires various resets. Any thoughts on that Ray?

With what you’re dealing with, having to reset the radio and the windows should be the least of your worries ;).

    You need to have that.

I can help you cause I have the software, but I've never done it either. Here is a video, skip to 1:30

I’d say at least 5-10 minutes;).

But I would do longer to be safe(y).

Let’s clear the brake situation before we muddy the waters with other collateral damage ;).

Get the brakes sorted and we can walk you through the next steps (y).

All right. So disconnect the battery and then wait 15-20. Is that all I do?

Don’t close the hatch (or drape a towel across the latch) to avoid the crawl of shame ;).

Good luck and keep us posted (y).
