    Hi Everyone!

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Have a quick question, I am looking at a potential purchase on a 2016 Prius Two (has 79,000 miles). It has a damage report on back bumper (at 36,000 miles) but it’s fixed.

In the service history, I see this. Can someone tell me if this is covered on the 8yr 100K warranty if this is a different battery as I’m not sure. Thank you very much!!

Specifically area that says state of health very low...should this be a red flag?

The battery test results are referring to the small starting battery which you see in a regular car. It is separate from the hybrid battery. The small battery boots up the computers and activates the relays which set in motion the engine and hybrid system. This battery can be seen under the hood and looks like any other car battery. The hybrid traction battery is under the back seat. The small battery is not part of the 100,000 mile battery warranty, and is not horribly expensive and similar to replacing a battery in a standard non hybrid car. I’d have the dealer replace the battery as part of the purchase.

Damage report, this car is not rebuilt or salvage title right? If yes, then the warranty on the car is void

If you can see the date and location of that Dealer service report it will help you decide.
A 2016 with 79k miles is a high mileage car which the sale price should reflect.
From what you've posted so far it sounds normal. I'd double check to see if you can get any more information on the rear bumper repair to see if it was more than just a new bumper skin or dented bumper repair.
Those are the only things I can think so far with what you;ve given us to work with.
Anything else just give a hoala...

Thank you so much for all of the replies! The car has a clean California title, it is not salvaged or rebuilt.

It is actually a Prius Three with 1 owner.

The damage report was on the carfax at around 30,000 miles and the car now has 79,000 miles.

The car actually has a lot of service records with the most recent one being on 8/3/19:

    Actual details of service records:

Greetings! I bought my 2016 Prius knowing I was going to put on a lot of miles. I now have just short of 80K with no glitches. I expect to keep loading on the miles till it craps out. The inspection you show above is almost funny... check installation of drivers floor mat! Check! In my opinion they are looking in the general direction of an item and if it appears present they are checking their box and moving on. (I quit going to the dealer... I'll go there when only they can do something no one else can) I have no idea what that car is worth or what mine is but I'd be confident buying one. I'd head of on a 10K trip around the country with no worries.. Gotta love the low health battery... of course they want to sell one. I tell people I have the most reliable most boring car I've ever owned... no regrets.!

No, it's something that TOYOTA specifies for every service:

    Also specified by SUBARU:

My last 2 FORDs had the same warning.

My 2006 KIA, when it was almost 3 yrs old, one of the grommets which the pin went through was loose, and they said it was unsafe, but because I'd bought the mats as part of the purchase of the car, they were still under warranty - and replaced all 4 floor mats (almost nobody had ever sat in the back seat!!).

I’m trying to get it out the door for 15K, which includes all taxes and dealer, dmv fees!

wow - you people pay big money for cars out there.

Heck, save nearly 5k and fly to Indiana and purchase my 2016 Prius C for $11,500. Just hit 38k miles.

    But that's a ZVW50R they're talking about - not a "c" like you've got.

    Here, a 2016 PRIUS is $25-26k, a 2016 "c" only $18-19k - similar kilometers.

Um yea, but it's a Prius C. Not even in the same ballpark. I've driven one. It would never suit my needs. It might be good for my daughter's first car in high school though.

I’m in the market for a 2016 as well here in CA.. found 2 I’m considering..

I was actually at a Toyota dealer today checking out a 2016 Prius two and the issue of hybrid battery came up.

I brought to the attention of the salesman that in CA at least, Prius hybrid batteries get s 10yr/150,000 mile warranty due to emissions laws. (Which he was told me he was not aware of )

If you google “Toyota Prius Hybrid battery warranty in California” , one of the first things that come up is the explanation of the Prius hybrid battery warranty and it seems only CA gets the extended warranty.

This came up in discussion recently - and someone commented that not all cars in California get the 10 yr battery warranty - older ones I think did, but newer ones didn't. I can't spot where it was talked about though.

I'd be carefully checking the Maintenance and Warranty Guide that is IN THE CAR for fine print.

Here are a couple of cautions for 2016 Prius. The early units cannot switch to Kilometers per hour.
2017 Prius added a lot of safety features as standard including features that were not available for 2016 Trim Two.
Later in the 2017 model year even more safety features such as BSM were added as standard. I have an early 2017 model.

Do you know exactly what those safety features are aside from blind spot monitoring?

I was looking on Autotrader.com and set the search criteria for 2016-2020.. a lot of good deals on 2016s , not so much 2017s..
