Finally joined the Prius Prime family!

    That's a great rate. I have never seen such low rates wherever I lived even decades ago.

    LA DWP charges 20 ¢ per kWh for Tier 1, including tax. Southern California Edison is a lot more expensive. LA DWP also has some discount program if you buy a time-of-use meter to charge an EV. Charging stations charge 25 ¢ or more.

    From our utility, the surcharges are 0.56 cents/KWh (half a cent), and the base service charge is $26.00. Furthermore, they emphasize that we are not connected to the PG&E grid, and are not effected by preemptive shutoffs that PG&E does when the fire risk is very high. PG&E is going through bankruptcy due to liability (billions of dollars) for wildfires started by issues with their power lines. Having small towns (Paradise) burn entirely to the ground due to maintenance issues with their equipment is not good for business. :rolleyes:

    With our electric bill for the hottest month of the year being $110, which include charging my Prime, I have been hesitant to have solar installed. I don't think the numbers work for me.

    Thank you! It's hard not to love it with the federal and California tax credits, EV driving, great gas mileage, parking benefits at work, and carpool-lane stickers good for the next four years!
