Source: Jeremy Clarkson, ex-host of 'Top Gear,' told Greta Thunberg to 'be a good girl' and 'shut up' - Insider

    . . .
Clarkson went on to call Thunberg a "spoilt brat," adding: "When you told your mum and dad to stop using planes and give up meat, they didn't behave like sane parents and ignore you. They actually said, 'Yes, dear.' And did."

He concluded: "Many thousands of people who you had the temerity to blame this week are trying to do exactly what you want. So be a good girl, shut up and let them get on with it. And no. You cannot stay out past ten. And you cannot go out in a skirt that short."

I understand that we are supposed to get upset by this, retweet it etc., and thus make it seem that things Clarkson says are important.

Why would people get upset with what he said? I'd imagine there's a LOT of people who agree with him.

Because it is silly and refers to topics he proudly proclaims ignorance of. But I see a point in recognizing those are not very good reasons.

Unfortunately, you can replace "Clarkson" with about 10,000 different names of self-important people in the US. For some reason they feel their opinion actually matters to the rest of the world. It's in the news every night, on the internet every day, being jammed down our throats that we should, for some unknown reason, actually GAF what they have to say.....Like Teigen and Legend, like Mark Hamill, like Jim Carrey and however many other idiots. Social Media will be the downfall of the world, or at least America....

What I found most appealing about Clarkson's initial comments concerned making use of an expensive carbon-fibre vehicle that targeted individual did not pay for. I often find unintentionally ironic 'own goals' appealing.

I've seen some of the 'amphibious' the original Top Gear team put together ... on their own. Most sunk.
