I've not put an Ad Blocker on Safari on my IPhone, but may soon: pop-down ad obscures top of screen (regardless of how you scroll). To access alerts you need to dismiss the ad by tapping that chevron. That's getting old real fast...

I have an Ad Blocker on my phone.
It also functions as a Scam call blocker.
It is commonly referred to as the OFF switch !!! (y)

It only does this once you begin to scroll in an actual thread and not a sub forum;).

But a lot of sites are going to this ad filled viewing field:cool:.

I play Yahoo Fantasy Football and that has gotten real bad. Can only really see a couple of players due to Pizza Hut ads:oops:.

Could always be worse I guess(y).

Apparently with my lowly iPhone 5 I'm SOL for adblockers.

It's actually within the posting, looks like a posted picture.

Recipe sites are another that come to mind. There's maybe 10 lines of recipe, somewhere in there, but good luck: sometimes the ads and come-ons near-completely fill the screen, you're paralyzed: no way to scroll without hitting the ad. Yeah I know, it's free, what can you expect, lol.

Yeah that started a few years back, with a website revision. There was various posts about it, but nada happens. There's a couple of work arounds:

    1. Rotate phone horizontal then back to vertical. This works, but I find it also throws off my position on the page, down to "Buy us a beer!" region...

    2. Go to the advanced editor, or whatever it's called.

A long lasting bug I noticed on a pc too: there's new alerts pop-ups in the middle of the page, but they don't work.

my new alerts come near the bottom left on my mac. still blocking a post, but i can x them out, or move the page vertically so it isn't blocking what i'm reading.

Yeah I was just musing: x'ing the pop-up alerts (on pc) is all you can do; they don't behave as a link. On the phone they work tho.

YOU can resolve that for yourself.
I NEVER see the stuff you are talking about here or any other "forum".
    My ad blocker is WONDERFUL.

How about sites that pop-up a "we see you're using an ad blocker"? I usually counter with "I'll see that ad blocker, and raise you an I'm-outa-here" lol.

    Pay close attention next time.
On many sites, that is just a "suggestion".....in which case you can close the box and continue on.
Any site that purposely will not work with an ad blocker in place.......is DEAD to me.
