I was debating that option when I first thought about the tank swap but didn’t want to pay the shipping on a gas tank from Canada to Florida. Now that I live in Oregon I could have drove to a Canadian junkyard... oh well lol

You could get one Australia along with the fuel filter and fuel lines to match. They have virtually zero value in Australia so check out a few Auto Wreckers (that's what they are called out here) and see what freight costs are .... that can be the killer. seems freight into or out of the USA is in the insane category making trade between the USA and anywhere that is not a US state cost probative.

Total I’m in the swap for about $80. I lucked out though on all the parts. I got some stuff for free and the rest for half off at the junkyard cause they were having a Labor Day sale.

So, i was trying to test my fuel injectors + for clogs. Spray pattern and the like.

One test Was to simply listen to the injectors and see if you can hear the insides move up and down. Simple test with an automotive stethascope.

When i take the air filter housing off all i can hear is a hissing sound and then the engine shuts off. This had happened when it's cold. Warm And other temps.

It will not run without the housing in place. I now hear the housing sound whenever the engine runs.

Could there be some wierd connection between a blank MFD and this stalling when the air filter housing is removed?

My Toyota Avalon does the same thing. Absolutely would not run with the air housing off. I’m not sure if it made a vacuum leak or the computer sensed a change in vacuum. Never heard of a Prius doing it though.

I'm thinking that i may have a vacuum leak as well. i have a friend who smokes, I'm going to hey how to blow that $+€ all over my engine and see if we can't find it.

Which OBD2 scanning device are you using to retrieve these DTCs with?

If might be time to upgrade your arsenal to include a mini-vci cable and techstream.

I'm near a friends house parked on the side of the road facing the wrong way because of the sun.

4 remanufactured fuel injectors in hand. ... and a pack of smokes and half a tank of gas. I'm on a mission from God.

now which movie was that bastardized quote from.

Engines for these are cheap. Have you considered an engine swap? Do you have a place to do it?

i don't. it took me several months to swap out my rear shocks. i still haven't found s place to do my fronts.

i have the new injectors in the car. i messed up installing cylinder 4 ( closest to the driver ). and it leaked gas. i got the best of my old seals, used gas to clean it, and it seemed to install just fine. but it's still running rough and leaking fuel.

i found a local person to help me tomorrow,v but i really don't like him. i saw that nutz n boltz was unemployed, i tried to contact him, but he either doesn't like gen2 or he hasn't seen the propoal.

I'm very up for an engine swap, but finding a place might be problematic. unless we can do it in one day at a Meetup.

Leaking isn't a good thing. It took me a few tries to get my rebuilt injectors to seat correctly, and didn't take long to tear everything apart each time. I used dipstick oil to lube the smaller o-rings, put the injectors onto the rail before mounting, then once mounted they're rotated/turned around to check for stickage. Taking the valve cover off would've made the actual injection install part much easier, but that wasn't in my program.
Don't take it personally, there could be a bit of anthropophobia at play.

No fuel leak. it still rattles so much that I'm sure my engine will fall out at any moment.

i have noticed a couple things since I installed new fuel injectors. 10% increase in fuel economy - from 20mpg to 22mpg.

i saw my best results when i changed out my sparkies. my air/fuel sensor is still reading ... nothing - a complete absence of signal.

Have actually tried the Prius without the first cat or the rest of the exhaust system fitted, so just the engine pipe down from the manifold and under the car. Might need to do it where the noise won't be an issue. Just thinking it could be a collapse muffler if it isn't one of the cats blocked.

Was that MX adapter, bluetooth, or wifi?

What app are you currently using, and have you tried using other apps with the MX adapter?

What phone or device are you using?
