Wanted to post about the deal I negotiated this week. I think it's extremely good but was hoping for some input from the pros!

    2020 Prius Prime XLE
    $30,714 MSRP
    -$3963 Dealer Discount
    -$1500 Toyota Rebate
    $299 Processing Fee
    $1830 FL tax @8.5%
    $20 non tax fee
    = Out the Door $27,400
    -$4502 Fed Rebate = $22,898

    Thoughts?

Wow, I think you're holding the current record. Is there any catch? Did you have a trade-in? I believe the previous record was $2,000 higher.

Mama how did you pull that off! That's $300 better than mine and I had to seriously push for it over a 2 week period. If you haven't locked it down.. run. Do it before they sell it.

I will say the taxes are usually calculated before the $1500 rebate.. at least in Cali. Is it different there?

I do have a 2017 Prime that I bought from them in 2018, I got a separate quote for that one (Ill post it below) since Im not sure if I want to trade it in yet. That quote is below. there was one special thing and that was if you sign up for a triathlon in the store for 50$ you get a voucher for 500$ off. The manager told me that after I was trying to work him down more. Thanks for the feedback guys! I wish my tax rate wasn't so high it would be even sweeter, we went up from 7% to 8.5% last year in my county.

With Trade in of 2017 Prius Prime Premium 14.8k miles white (sorry I don't have the breakdown) they offered me 22k for it.
    = Out the Door $6200
    -$4502 Fed Rebate = $1698

I only owe 20.3k on my car so that's an extra 1.7k$ towards it. Leaving me out the door all in all everything with a new 2020 and 2$ cash :)

Wait so the 3.9k dealer discount included the $500 USA triathlon discount? That changes things. Still amazing deal but more doable. There's also an Uber deal then. It's $750 more down, just get your self signed up and car inspected and no need to actually drive. Just show them the active symbol. Might as well in my opinion.

That Uber deal seems to be only for California residents.

Same as the Triathlon discount. Except you don't need to do anything but sign up. You don't actually have to do the triathlon lol

Really? They are selling the brand-new 2020 for $25k and offering you $22k for a three-year-old used one? This makes no sense whatsoever. I suspect they made an error, and they will change the deal when you agree with the purchase. However, if you can really get this deal, jump in as soon as you can before it goes away! It sounds too good to be true, as you're getting paid to switch your car with a better car.

The catalyst for it being possible is the $4502 federal discount. Which the dealer isn't concerned with. The thing that is curious is the market seems to not take into account the fact that those tax breaks exist. Granted they aren't available to everyone and you have to make over ~50k a year to carry the tax burden but it is indeed a curious thing. I've already purchased a car from these guys. It isn't a mistake, I got a killer deal on that one too.

Well, don't wait, and get it, as you'll save more money by trading in your old one.

Going to pick her up this weekend. I'll post a printout of all the final numbers so you can see how it ends up and try to duplicate.

Yea because the actual current one is classified and regional Toyota office has it. MTN used it just a week ago.. so it's still current if you ask.

Our discount from Acton Toyota (MA) was $1k plus rebate $1500 so your discount is better than we did.
