.... and am I GLAD to be back!! In between my last Prius (a 2012 Level Two that I sold in 2015), I have leased a pickup truck, that went back, then I bought a 2013 Chevy Volt. The EV range was cool and all, but GM's crappy quality had me selling it after 100,000 miles because my traction battery and EV components warranty expired.

Took a little searching but I found the ONE! Picked it up this past Tuesday, and am LOVING being back in a Prius!

Welcome my new Prius, 2015 Level Four, with only 15,000 miles. Certified Pre-owned from a Toyota Dealer, new 12v battery, the service history on the Toyota owners site indicates the engine oil was changed annually resulting in FOUR oil changes at the Toyota Dealer in 15,000 miles :D:D by the past owner. Suffice to say, the car was very well maintained. lol

So glad to be back. The Volt was cool, but I couldn't live with the battery section failures under 100k miles (and slightly over, after the warranty expires!) that happen daily on the volt pages. It goes to show, you can take the boy out of a Prius, but you'll never get the Prius out of the boys (heart). lol!

In my book, that car wouldn't even be described as 'cool' if that was the average battery life span. Obama endorsed it, even said he would buy, own and drive one when he leaves office. We're still waiting. Wait, Chevy said sales were poor and scrap the car all together.

It must be nice to have redesigned pistons, piston rings, and inverter. My 2011 Prius 4 doesn't have any of those goodies :(

I'm not sure what pistons and rings this would have. I did enter the info as a 2015, but as you can see it's described as "2011~2015". Maybe all currently manufactured short block assemblies would be with the revised part numbers. Either way, a new lease on life. There's US sites similar, but they don't seem to ship to Canada. Easier to ship across the Pacific.

Buy short block assembly for Toyota Prius XW30 (12.2011 - 11.2015) - Amayama

^ Interesting site, I've ordered one cosmetic item, and it's supposedly located and on it's way to me. :)

The cover for the bare wires atop the engine bay ECU, not bad: $4.92 + $10 for shipping (CDN).

Now you’ll be able to pressure wash your engine bay:ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL:.

2x the cost in shipping though .

I’m sure it’ll be packed tightly in an oversized box(y).

$15 CDN all-in is not bad. Google the part number from US sites, it's usually around $10 (in US funds), before shipping.

Such small cross-the-pacific items usually show up in very minimal packaging, basically a plastic envelope with a layer of bubble wrap lamination, if warranted. As often as not I don't incur any extra charges, not even sales tax. It's slow, but hey.

    They have short blocks, btw...

    That was great blue color.
One time we had ours and a Red Prius and a blue Prius in a parking lot side-by-side, but we did not grab photo unfort.

    Welcome Back...

I have to mention however, that I think getting 100,000 miles out of your Volt was a pretty good.
I'm assuming it was still viable when you sold it.

Welcome back. 2015 Gen3. That was my first PRIUS, although mine was base Two trim. (I don't think there was One trim back then.) It was a nice car, but I wanted a plug-in, thus my current PRIME.

Did you ever think about the PRIME for your new drive? I am fairly certain it would be better than Volt.

    Thanks everyone!
Mods so far: Huskyliner floor mats (Front and rear, of course) and trunk mat. Thats it so far. lol. It snowed here in Michigan, so I am driving my 4x4 and the Prius is comfortably parked in the garage, clean as the day I washed it last week. My 4x4 on the other hand, looks like it crawled out of a snowy swamp (I live on a dirt road). Cant wait for the roads to dry up and so I can drive my Prius!!

Then NOW is a great time to do any and everything the Prius needs to have done to it.
And to make any modification you wanted to make! :)

Turning the stupid back up beeping crap was the FIRST thing I did!
I finally got around to replacing the pretend stock horns with the Fiamme(spelling?) horns.
    HUGE difference!
