Sorry if it’s too much on-topic…

I saw this article elsewhere and thought to share it.

Sounds like both Tesla and that particular C&C club chose the same lot for the same reasons.

Looks like a good opportunity for a towing company to make some serious cash.

Ugh. Except… who would ever want it to go that way?

It’s a much better opportunity for the Tesla driver to roll down the window and say “Hey fella, nice car! Would you mind swapping spaces with me so I can fill up?” hopefully answered by “Wow, nice car! Sure, hold up a sec and we’ll get you plugged in. Want coffee?"

Of note, it doesn’t sound like anyone actually rolled up looking to charge during the C&C event.

There’s always going to be contention for resources. It’s important to remember that there are some really simple methods for resolution.

testosterone filled tesla owners & coal rollers are seldom looking for amicable or simple resolotions. Ergo - it's easy enough to find videos of Tesla's using (their heavy traction packs to their advantage) a strap to drag coal rollers pickup out of their supercharge spots. How can they complain .... it just save them a cost of Towing, ticket, & impound, usually running around $450 nowadays in our area. Even knuckle draggers can learn about torque/drag/weight physics.

Coal rollers?!? The photo on the article showed middle-aged guys with sports cars.

This was a club meeting- guys who like cars, and they are all standing right there, ostensibly with their keys on them. Very different situation from the chargers being blocked by cars with no responsible owners in sight, or malcontents trying to stage a crappy confrontational youtube thrill.

Maybe I’m setting myself up for disappointment later, but I’m having a hard time buying into your pessimism today.

sorry - my post referenced one of the follow-up links, that showed several supercharger stalls deliberately blocked by pickups, not your original linked article.

SIMILARLY on topic - Some states are handling such stupidity through legislation, before people take too many of these aggressive matters into their own hands. But the link below shows that the about picture is not an isolated incident.

Okay, well your picture is clearly jerks being jerks. I’m not out to deny their existence or defend their actions- rather to differentiate between said jerks and a Sunday car club.

    Look before you leap.

Teslas have enough power. All they would have to do would be to just tow out one of the cars from the supercharger parking spot and then just drive in, plug in, charge, and go! :D

The group organizers had sent out a reminder to not block the Superchargers. So those doing so could be jerks that belong to a Sunday car club.

Because unless they all are blind or illiterate, that looks deliberate. I doubt asking nicely is going to stop them from doing it, which is apparently what the C&C organizers did to little effect. They'll move post haste once they see their buddies (or their) car up on tow hooks.
