I now have 12000 miles on my advanced and it is showing 167 mpg. I know some have been doing a lot better but this would mean a large portion is being driven on electric. We are retired and the car never leaves Florida. It seldom gets more than 15 miles from home. When we charge it will show 33 miles of charge and that is about what we get. Getting the windows tinted this week and hoping this will help keep the interior looking nice. Love our PHEV. What say ye?

ev miles depends a lot on terrain, speed, acceleration, driving technique, hvac use, ambient temp and etc.

at 15 miles, i would say its mostly highway. if not, you need to do more research.

It's 15 miles from home. Read the next sentence. With a travel radius that small, the EV range is perfect.

    YMMV.... ;)

The tint will probably help in FLA but beware that not all tints are created equal!!!
If you've lived in the southernmost Yankee state for a while then you already know what budget tint looks like on cars after a few Floridian summers.
Can't recommend one brand over another.....you'll have to get a kid or somebody that identifies as Californian to help you out with that.

If you're retired and you drive at night a lot, then you may want to consider going easy on the darkatude.
I very often drive at night and since I'm part of a very VERY small percentage of drivers who actually use their mirrors for something besides personal grooming, I've never been all that wild about limo-tint.
Of course....my night vision has probably deteriorated somewhat since I was 10' tall and bullet-proof in my twenties.
These days I'm less than 6' tall and only bullet resistant. :D

    Good Luck!

Just wanted to hear if others were as happy as I with their Prius. Most of my trips are less than 30 miles round trip from home so when I do the math I have been running on electric about 84% of the time. Going for the highest price tint the guy has to protect it from sun damage and keep some of the heat out of the auto. No real question, just a curiosity on how others are doing with their mpg on their total miles and what they think of tinting... Thanks for responding.

Going with the carbon and having it put on by a professional. He done my neighbors last year. It looks great and she is happy with it. We are having him do a southern and western window in the house also with whatever he recommends.
